RE: Turner Needs to go
Turner is here to stay. We're 12-3 & have a top 10 offense & he's a big part of it. This isn't a Madden game.
That said, I still firmly believe our 1st pick will be a change-of-pace RB. But that isn't to replace Turner. That's to help spread the defense out, get them out of the box on a handful more plays every series covering the flats & the middle dump zones. This, along with hopefully Meier & HD stepping up in the slot will make a huge difference. If we lose Gonzo to retirement, however, I'm at a loss, no clue what we do then with the 1st pick because it might be a TE, which IMO would be a shame. Gonzo staying makes our options so much easier. |

RE: Turner Needs to go
Turner needs a full head of steam to get going and he just wasn't getting the blocks last night to do that. Yes on a few runs he could have done better, but the Saints did a good job of filling the gaps. Stop trying to tear down our players all the time.
Jesus I hate this fan base sometimes.

RE: Turner Needs to go
For a "bowling ball" built guy, Turner sure does seem to get arm-tackled a lot. He goes down way too easily on first contact, or just gives himself up as soon as he gets touched. And he has no stiff-arm move whatsoever.

After White, Gonzo and Turner the Falcons simply do not have a go to target. Don't forget that Michael Jenkins had 90 total yards in receptions and PI penalties drawn. I made this point in another thread. Jenks has stepped up against the Saints many times since Mike Smith took over. |

He sure has no spin move, no high-step, & no stiff-arm. He's also slow to get outside the hashes & it really does seem like if you get a pinky finger on his legs or feet, he's going down. BUT, for some reason, he gets 100+ yard rushing games all the time, tons of TD's, & always seems to break for that 35+ yard game changing huge run when it's needed, none-the-less. Would we do better with a different RB? I don't think so. What we need are pieces that will FORCE the opposing defense to spread out & cover multiple other threats. We're currently missing a CoP RB & a really GOOD slot receiver to do exactly that. This, IMO, would help Turner more than anything. Turner is a good fit for our offense right now, he just needs help. |

RE: Turner Needs to go
Turner has been used to develop Ryan. Because of the way rbs slow down we will see our offense change to more of a passing attack. We've been seeing this happen since the beginning of the season.

Jenks can't step it up every game, Snelling has had injury issues, and HD has flown off the radar. |

Meier looked extremely promising before the injury, hopefully he turns out to meet expectations next year & stays healthy. We also have 8 picks in the draft. I'm sure we'll get offensive weapons with 2 of our 1st 3 picks. A CoP RB & WR likely. |
