Trent Dilfer - He needs to be Spat Upon.....

Listening to the HERD on ESPN radio today before the Mike Smith interview and Colin Cowherd - who claims he picked Falcons to SuperBowl before the season - said that Trent Dilfer came out AGAIN - calling the Atlanta Falcons "posers" - with the term meaning that the Falcons are pretenders and not really a good team.

As much as I would rather have an easier game and beat the Seahawks or maybe the Packers(althought that would not be easy at all!) - I would take a special GLEE if the Falcons rematched with the Saints and somehow just administred a "beatdown" of Trent Dilweed's beloved Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints.

I did not think it was possible to hate someone in the media this much - its not just that Trent Dilfer said something "once" - its that Dilfer feels the need to repeat it over and over again. Well, maybe that is just how Dilfer feels and he is entitled to an opinion - I would just like him to have to:

Every NFL fan can see his displeasure with us. It's clear as day.

Maybe we lost to the Saints to build his ego just a little more so we can crush it HARD.

Posers is the wrong word to use. Maybe you can be a poser halfway through the season, but at the end of the season when you are the #1 seed the whole poser talk stops. Of course anyone is capable of winning the SB minus the Seahawks on the NFC side, and if Trent doesn't have us as the top favorites that is fine but don't insult the Falcons by calling them posers.

It seems like what started as his schtick (and possibly even his assignment) has, thanks to lots of passionate input from Falcons fans, become personal. This speaks well of us and bad of him, not because of what he says but rather that he is so weak minded that he has allowed us commoners to compromise what little professionality he had to begin with. Personally I find it humorous that we have gotten under his skin.

Whether anyone realizes it or not we have already won. Just for fun someone needs to dig up some videos from 2008 where he's singing the praises of Matt Ryan and the Falcons.
