Top three positions of need
Post the top three positions of need in order and why.

Mine are...
CB, because I don't trust owens to do the job and I don't know if Franks is ready to step in yet.

LT, because Baker gave up too many sacks, nuff said.

Reciever, because we need a deep threat thats willing to fight for the ballSmile

RE: Top three positions of need
There's actually 4 needs that are equally important right now.

On offense, a deep threat YAC capable receiver & a sideline to sideline speedback who can catch.
On defense, a nickel who can cover the middle & another DE who can join the rotation & get some sacks. And there certainly could be an argument for OLB as well.

Baker's going nowhere. We're probably re-signing Blalock & Dahl, letting Clabo test the FA market. If anything, we'll need a new backup behind Reynolds when he takes over at RT.

RE: Top three positions of need
DE: Because we need a pash rush to have an elite team, it's no coincidence that the teams who were ranked #1 and #2 in sacks meet each other in the Superbowl.

RB: Our offense will be better if we get a receiving threat RB instead of a WR who can be a deep threat.

Oline: If we lose our players who could be in FA we will be in trouble.

When you think about it, we have quite of few needs. They probably won't move Baker, but I don't think he had a good year and if we can aquire a good LT to groom in case Baker goes down, if they don't and he has another bad year, they might regret not doing it. Wouldn't Baker be better suited as a RT?

Our run game droped off this past year and I'am not sure that I would blame Turner for that, so I agree about Clabo.

With out a doubt, we need a speed back, but not in the first three picks.

Baker has played LT all his college & pro career, he's not an RT. If he goes anywhere at all, it would be LG, but I don't see that happening either.

RE: Top three positions of need
If Baker can't succeed at LT, he isn't going anywhere but to the bench. He isn't the typical LT to RT project, which is usually a mauler type who simply doesn't have the finesse/footwork to play LT. Baker's problem is that he just gets beat in every way possible. He's missed assignment, been ran over, gave up the inside rush, and just been an all around nightmare.

Quoted the part I agree with. Baker goes from being a solid LT to terrible. He's inconsistent, not a nightmare. Still has potential, but yeah, he doesn't have the skills to move elsewhere on the line.

RE: Top three positions of need
Sam Baker sucks at LT. Im sorry, but he does. He really does have short arms, or plays like a short-armed blocker. I think he would be better off as a LG.

RE: Top three positions of need
1) Nickle - you know why
2) LB - We have some good situational guys on the bench but we are to thin here.
3) DE - Our DLine is very disruptive even if we don't get the sacks, we still need another sackmaster but we'd be ok without him.
4) WR.

RE: Top three positions of need
If we have a season, we will have FA. Were not going to find a DE in the draft that will give us immediate help. Why not wait on a DE and use that pick on someone else? We also have to have a RB that can catch passes out of the backfield, but I got to think we can get him in the later rounds.

To me Baker looked good his first season (minus injuries) What happened?
