Sure, he isn't the player he once was... but he's still much better than Pelle. This gives us an additional year to groom Palmer or even draft a TE.

yep, was watching it live and was very happy to hear that "as of right now, I'm absolutely going to be there next year". Some people complain about his age and lack of blocking skills, but in my opinion he's still a top 10 receiving tight end that helps this offense tremendously. One more year might be the one, who knows?

The Palmer kid will be great one day, watch and see. The kid from Clemson may be the best TE athlete-wise we have. Peele is a purely a blocking TE even though he's not that big.

In Mularkey's scheme there's an O-lineman often playing on the wing so the TEs aren't expected to be the big time blockers.

You are right on,...as Mularkey was a TE in the NFL. My brother suggests he calls plays with a TE mentality. Sometimes it looks like just that.
