Tony Gonzalez - concerns
That pass he dropped hit him dead in the numbers. That is unacceptable for a player of his caliber. He has dropped a few others this season. His drops seem to have increased more since Ryan has begun focusing more on Roddy. Does Tony G. lose focus if he isnt the #1 target, like he was last year? I wonder.
And while Im on the topic of drops - WTF IS UP WITH Harry Douglass? He has dropped nearly half of everything thrown to him this season. I can excuse his lack of separation to his recuperating knee, but his drops have been horribly inexcusable. He was supposed to be helping stretch the field but he hasnt come anywhere close to doing that. Jenkins is an enigma. He makes some of the most incredibly difficult catches Ive seen, but will drop the easiest balls thrown at him. He is also one of the fastest players on the team but he runs routes slower than molasses, and cannot separate. He's weird. |

No concern....
He catches with his hands.... that one got past his hands and to his body.... it happens..... Roddy had worse drops.... Matt threw to a couple places that he should not have... no worries |

Ain't too worried about this. I hope we help dude get his ring before he's ready to retire! Besides, hopefully we have his heir apparent on the team already, in Palmer!

RE: Tony Gonzalez - concerns
Gonzo = He dropped a few...and he single handedly won 2 games for us this year... what's the point of worrying?
HD = Over-hyped, if Meier didn't go down for the year we would have already seen him replace HD.

RE: Tony Gonzalez - concerns
Gonzo has declined some, but he's still better than a whole lot of TEs in the league.
As for HD, I don't know. He had really solid hands in 08. He's shown he still has the speed and shiftiness he just needs to work on his hands to get them back to where they were. I still think he'll be really good. He's got all the tools

RE: Tony Gonzalez - concerns
I believe Thiesman said he has earned a few drops. Gonzo has made quite a few big 3rd down catches.

RE: Tony Gonzalez - concerns
I'm not worried about TG at all. When he scores a TD in the SB this year and gets his ring its gonna recharge his batteries for at least one more good season.

While I expected to see a little more out of Douglas thus far this season, I still think you have to slow your roll on judging a guy who is a little over a year recovered from his ACL injury. Have to be a little objective in your thinking there. Not to mention Atlanta isn't putting him at punt returner right now. He was not only envisioned as a guy who could make big plays in the slot and stretch the field but a game breaker in the punt return game. I don't think we will see truly what Douglas is made of until next season. I personally expect him to have a much stronger 2nd half this season, but to say Meier would be playing over Douglas right now is a big big stretch and a simple case of overreaction. I mean the guy hasn't played 2 full seasons in the NFL and you are calling him over hyped? Hell he started out the season playing the #2 WR's role, which he is not built to play and is not the position he is expected to fill in our WR corp. I'm sure you called Roddy over hyped too before he was even through with 2 seasons in the league. 3rd season was a little different wasn't it?
