Tony G plans on playing in 2011
Confused

according to his publicist, Tony Gonzalez "definitely" plans continue playing football in 2011.
Gonzo also confirmed his intent to return on ESPN's Jim Rome show. Still a capable possession target, Gonzalez has another year left on his contract at $5.75 million, and will finish out the deal. Turning 35 in February, Gonzalez finished 2010 with his fewest receptions (70) and yards (656) since 1998. He's losing speed and will be a low-upside pick in 2011 fantasy drafts. I'm delusional from our playoff loss against GB . Don't take me seriously until year 2413 .

(Kidding, I don't mind if there's two threads)

I'd hope we'd see more Palmer next year with TG grooming him. If they don't think Palmer is his replacement, like with other positions we've reached on, then they need to quit wasting picks and get people to fill the damn holes we have

Chew on THAT, Petunia!

He's a reliable possession target and leader, but he doesn't bring much else (Blocking, YAC, Pass Protection, Playmaking Ability) to the field at this point in his career. I hope we are able to field another TE who can run AFTER the catch and average more than a paltry 9.5 YPC to play alongside the quickly-declining TG.

Ahhh, if only.

Gonzo is good, but I hope to see him get less reps. He's had a good amount of drops and shown no explosion.

Still... he's better than most the TE's out there, but we need to worry about the future and get someone to develop. Whether or not Palmer is our long term answer... I dunno.

One good year to groom his replacement. Nothing bad about that.

Wow.... Tony G Hate in this thread. I seem to recall some key 3rd downs where the only thing between our ass and the fire was Tony's hands.

Maybe he's lost a step, but I'll take the HOF TE next year any day of the week.
