In a farcical thread, highly doubtful.

Weakest QB batch in a while? Are you guys kidding me!

Blaine Gabbart, Cam Newton, Jake Locker, Ryan Mallett, Christian Ponder

Get outta here!

It's a better class than when Alex Smith and David Carr were taken #1 overall, but it's not a great class either. Newton is obviously a boom or bust prospect. I don't watch much Big 12 football besides the occasional UT or OK game, so I had honestly never heard of Gabbert until the end of the season when draft talk began. Suddenly he might be the #1 pick. I think Locker, at best, will be a career backup. Mallett is another boom or bust prospect. Ponder is a good QB, but he was an underachiever at FSU. I'll be interested to see what he does in the pros.

Maybe this is me going out on a limb, but I really think that Ponder will be the best NFL pro out of this draft class. With Gabbert, and Mallett close behind. I think this seasons QB class is better than the Ryan/Flacco class for sure!

Cam should have stayed one more year.

Should have, yes. But when the NCAA is going to yank your eligibility at any moment, you lost your entire O-line and top two WR's, you leave.

I agree I'm pretty high on Ponder

I've been saying the same thing for 2 years. Ponder reminds me a lot of Ryan.

Ponder will disappear. Glabbert will be okay. Newton will be around a while, his athleticism will help him. None of these guys are great QB's.
