Thoughts on Next Year's Schedule
Since the play-off loss talk has bored me to death and the subject has been beaten into infinity, why don't we talk about something that isn't depressing and rehash old shit. I stumbled across next year's schedule for us, dates/bye not finalized and figured it was worth looking at. Your thoughts on it?
Home: Packers, Vikings, Jaguars, Titans, Eagles Away: Bears, Lions, Texans, Colts, Seahawks |

RE: Thoughts on Next Year's Schedule
Personally, I like it. Not too hard, not too easy.
I'll go ahead and say I FUCKING HATE having to play the Eagles home. Dealing with that drama is just so annoying and lame. I like getting another shot at the Packers at home. I don't think the will put up 48 on us again. The Colts game looks to be the overall hardest for us, simply because the Colts at home is difficult to deal with and Manning is Manning. Overall, the defenses we play don't seem to be that tough, but we do play some pass happy teams. The Packers, Eagles, Lions, Bears, Seahawks, and Colts are all teams that can go crazy through the air if we're not careful. At first glance, I say we have another shot at 13-3. Could change though between now and the draft of course, and I need to know the dates and bye. You never know. |

RE: Thoughts on Next Year's Schedule
Within reason (as long as we make the playoffs) our final record next year doesn't matter that much to me...
I could easily see a scenario where we went 11-5, 10-6 and were a better and stronger team than we were this year. As long as we address what I consider our 2 more glaring weaknesses.....which IMO are..... 1.) An effective and consistent DE to help provide a more dangerous pass rush. 2.) A fast WR who can get open deep and/or stretch the field. There are other things I believe we need: a better LT to protect Matt's blind side, a TE to take over the retired or soon-to-be retired Tony G, a speed back if we aren't bringing back Norwood. We're going to be better and more dangerous next year. I have faith in Dimitroff and Smith and in the steady leadership and intelligence they bring to this team. I have shaken the blues and shock from Saturday night and am ready to move on.

RE: Thoughts on Next Year's Schedule
I see us 9-7 or 8-8 out of playoffs. Next year is going to be the after shock of this playoff loss . Plus We were rather healthy all year and next year we can't expect the same . The uncertain of Tony G and how it effects our offense at this point were better off walking away . TD has shown he is not capable of finding play makers and when one falls in his lap he passes on him . TD also gave Dunta a boat load of money who clearly was a let down I can see TD being more tentative going after free agent since he swung and miss big time on Dunta .
There are some other holes on team and some of the teams that missed out on playoffs this year will be better . Cowboys/Vikings/Giants while I don't see Packers or Saints going anywhere. Plus the Bucs could be better Gut feeling were out of playoffs . Then alot more bashing occurs some fans start to turn more on this regimen leading up to 2012 season IMO is the year we make the chip run or start process all over ![]() I'm delusional from our playoff loss against GB . Don't take me seriously until year 2413 . - Added by Phocis because of this post. Warned here. Do not remove. |

RE: Thoughts on Next Year's Schedule
As of right now, my prediction is no football. Until the players union and owners both remove their heads form their collective asses, there will be no agreement.
Assuming an agreement is reached, it would most likely mean adding 2 more games to the schedule. If I had to guess how where those games would come from, I'd say it would be teams from the opposing conference, in divisions played the previous 2 years that finished in the same place in their division. I other words, the Falcons would add a game against the Steelers & New England, the Saints would add games against the Ravens & Jets, the Bucs against the Browns & Dolphins, and the Panthers would get games against the Bengals & Bills. Another thing to take into consideration in that scenario is the addition of another bye week later in the season. And you have to think of who you'll play that is coming off of a bye, who you'll get on a short week, etc. That's a lot of factors for predicting something that we don't even know for sure will be happening. Personally, one change I'd like to see made is teams coming off of a bye can only play another team coming off of a bye, but I highly doubt the NFL would actually do something like that. |

RE: Thoughts on Next Year's Schedule
even with a new collective bargaining agreement for an 18 game schedule, i don't se how they would impliment that for the upcoming season. It would prob start in 2012-2013....
