Thoughts On Jarvis Moss..
Reports are surfacing that Denver has cut ties with him. He was a former 1st round pick who came out of college as a DE, but under Denver was moved to a 3-4 OLB. He was picked in the first round for a reason right? The man has to have talent. Maybe just the system in Denver did him no good, and he could possibly be a stud DE. Kicking the tires on him could turn positive, and yet again save us another draft pick.

Sidbury can't even find his way onto the active roster each Sunday, doubt we have room for JA98 jr.

RE: Thoughts On Jarvis Moss..
Smitty and TD have a plan and as we can see its working.

Mid season cast offs are mid season cast offs for a reason.

RE: Thoughts On Jarvis Moss..
in jarvis' defense he was a 4-3 DE, that got thrust into a 3-4 OLB slot. no experience with it at any level.

I don't think TD and Smitty want to sign a defensive end who considered retirement just before last season. Jarvis Moss doesn't have the passion for football that is needed to be successful, and that attitude is the last one we need in our locker room.

Food for thought: Denver ran a 4-3 in 2007 and 2008. He still couldn't produce.

hmm..didn't know he considered retirement after last season. Wonder what he was gonna do. I'm still shocked that Glenn Coffee walked away from the game this year. I bet the 49ers ain't too happy about it either. To each their own I guess.

I also didn't know he played in a 4-3. Who was Denver's coach in '07-'08?

I know that in 07 it was Bates, not sure about 08 but a wikipedia quote tells me that he was a DE in 08

Quote:2009 season
With new Defensive Coordinator Mike Nolan being hired Moss has moved to the outside linebacker position, after spending his entire NFL career as a defensive end.
On August 1, 2009, it was reported that Jarvis Moss was contemplating retirement because of struggles adapting to the defensive schemes. After two grueling days of contemplation and reflection, Moss returned to practice on August 4, 2009.
