Which gave Jenkins a chance to step it up, which he did, but what is the deal with HD? He just can't catch anything unless it hits him right in the hands. So many 3rd down plays this year have Matt and Harry failed to connect on. We need another receiver but with Kerry Meier coming back and Weems taking up the 5 slot, where do we find room on the roster? |

Well Jenkins was obviously OPEN several times and made several catches. He did his job of making the opponent pay for rolling double coverage on Roddy. It was HD and Gonzo that became invisible all night. |

RE: This game was a bit of a bummer.
To many over reactions, even in this loss we still showed we are who we are. Even the Pats got destroyed by Cleveland this year, NO got beat down by Arizona, and we lost 3 games to 3 SB contending teams only one of which was really a blow out.
We are one of the best teams in the NFL even in losing we show that, we have a good talented team that is on the same page, sometimes it just does not come together in a game, turnovers killed us but we still had a good shot to win. We were not exposed because there is nothing to expose, we are a solid team good at the fundamentals that normally does not shoot itself in the foot, we are balanced with a defense that is capable enough to shut down some of the best offenses in the league. There is no smoke and mirrors with us, with a win next week we will have had the second best Falcons season in franchise history, hardly a reason to flip out call out players and over react. |

He still seems tentative on it. When you look at someone like Welker who goes all out even after similar surgery it is amazing. I wouldn't expect Meier to bring much to the table next year for the same reason. |

RE: This game was a bit of a bummer.
The only type of play maker we are missing is norwood type of speed back. Sucks he went down early in the season but at that time it was pretty much to late to replace him.
We have a great Young QB, a bruising RB, a very good 2nd RB in Snelling, a top tier WR, several pretty good possession WR's, the best TE to ever play the game of football, Weems has shown to be a very good return man. Compared to most teams we are pretty stacked with playmakers we are only missing a speed back to come off the bench. |

No team in the league is as dependent on 1 WR as the Falcons are, and it isn't even remotely close. I mean...all of the good teams in this league have 2 or 3 guys who can catch a WR screen or a quick hitch and make something happen. The Falcons don't have anybody except Roddy. The Falcons have overcome it this year, but the Saints doubled Roddy all night and took him away, and it left the offense completely shut down. |

He has been a legit #2 WR that fits our need. And he can stretch the field. (MM just rarely even tries to do so... with any WRs) Where we have been killed is with our Slot/#3/quick WR... HD is just not getting it done. A large part to why some don't believe Jenkins is valuable, and it also affects HD to some degree, is our offense does NOTHING to get those guys in positional schemes to contribute as do some other teams' schemes. We run so many JUMBO personnel sets, AND tight formation BUNCH sets that our offense is non-explosive by design much of the time!! Our offense BRINGS 8, and sometimes 9 or 10, defenders INTO the BOX area on MANY plays... It wasn't just last night... that's our Offense. Don't get me wrong... I prefer to pound the rock, but MM really limits our ability due to the formations/plays. N.O. was effectively stopping the run and we did NOT make them abandon it by literally flipping the script on them and going to a No-Huddle PASS Heavy personnel set and sticking to it.The Jenks PI in 3rd qtr. was huge unfortunately becuz it negated a 3rd down cnvrsn and put us back in 3rd and 20 from deep in our end... til then we were passing more for awhile andit was working. |

I can't remember a play in his entire career where he made a guy miss lol. You can argue the point all you want, but in the end on this issue, the numbers don't lie. Last year Roddy White was the only WR in the league that had more catches than all other WRs on his team when he had 2 more catches than all of the other WRs. This year he has 20 more. He's caught 58% of the WR catches. He's got 59% of all of the WR yardage. 60% of the TDs. The Falcons have by far the most predictable offense in the league with regards to where the ball is going, because they don't have a lot of viable options. |

Saints took him away last night so Matt threw to him and Jenks stepped up. |
