This game was a bit of a bummer.

Our offense was just ass. I didn't see any particular flaws exposed. Closest thing to exposing a flaw on D was the holes in the zone, which were already known.

The Falcons don't have playmakers on offense besides Roddy White. Been saying it all year and it's never been more evident than tonight.

They have done a great job of overcoming it but it caught up with them tonight. Nobody could get open.

All you say to Saint trolls is "your team was the better team tonight, congratulations". There really isn't much smack talk to be made after that until the next time the teams meet, which maybe pretty soon.

Yeah, I'm not worried about it here at AFT, but I still peruse the other boards as well. They'll still be there. Trust me. Tongue

Well good news. As far as I can tell, the other board has crashed lol.

Statement game for the Falcons, statement win for the Saints. I'm bummed but oh well.

No more tweeting. If your gonna talk, you need to back it up.

If the Falcons win this Sunday, this game will be immediately forgotten.

I don't like losing to the Saints so it might take me a little longer to forget about it lol.

The Falcons earned a margin of error, and now they need to use it.

The offense didn't get it done tonight. The lack of playmakers finally caught up with them. Hopefully they will overcome it next week and in the playoffs as they have all this season.

On that front, have to give credit to the Saints defense. They overmatched the Falcons offense tonight, and by a wide margin.

BVG and the Falcons defense deserve credit, despite the game winning drive by the Saints. Those guys played well enough to win this game.........easily. Would have been nice if they could have tackled Brees better though.....only criticism I have.

The officials made a couple of big mistakes that hurt the Falcons. The offsetting calls involving Roddy White early in the game was a bogus call....should have been just a call on Greer. How important was it? Who knows.

Turner's fumble and McClure's bad snap were the two key plays in the game. Real unfortunate plays.

I thought Smith should have gone for it at the end. Didn't think the Falcons had a feasible chance at all after they punted. I thought the defense was spent by that point. So.....bummer.

The officials should have reviewed that second down play. Maybe it's not reviewable as a "spot" challenge, but it was definitely reviewable as a "down by contact" challenge. I think that was a mistake in the interpretation of the rules by the officials.

The bottom line is this game won't matter if the Falcons win next week. But I think that winning this week isn't going to be quite as easy as we think it might be.

I do think that Steve Young is right about this team. It's not really that talented....but Matt has them ahead of where they should be with this talent level.

The good news is that everything the Falcons want to achieve is still clearly ahead of them.

I agree with pretty much everything you said here.

A few more silver linings though:

1) It's REALLY hard to beat an NFL team three times in one season, I actually feel better about playing the Saints in the Divisional round now.

2) I don't think it's a good thing to have a really long winning streak. This was a VERY uncharacteristic week for the Falcons, starting with White's twitter and ending with TWO fumbles tonight.

3) The OMB is down, and we have this board on which to vent our frustrations!

You are going to have these games. Better to have it now.

I don't like it either but we will all be over it if the Falcons are the number 1 seed.

The good news is that all 16 games count equally, and the Falcons have still won more games than any other NFC team.

Well, they SHOULD, but we lost to the Saints LATE in the Season, so they'll move ahead of us in the rankings. Plus, Philly beat us in the one game we played against them, and THEY have been a roll so they are both in front of us to be matched against the Patriots in the BCS Championship.

I think we'll be matched against the Chiefs in the TEA Party Bowl.

I thought Jenkins was sort of balling tonight.

I'm sorry, but having Vincent Jackson on the field would not have helped us tonight.

The Saints' secondary was finally healthy and hungry the same week our passing game was off and it showed. Gotta just tip your cap sometimes.
