Am I saying that this team isn't nearly as talented as the Packers? Yes, that is what I am saying.

Fascinating,...now we're getting into psychology.

But this is a good theraputical thread,...sort of like salve to the wounds.

RE: There are 2 Ways to Remember this Season
So you have to blow out a bunch of team to be a good team right?

2001 New England Patriots -

Bengals - 17-23 L
Jets - 3-10 L
Colts - 44-13 W
Dolphins - 10-30 L
Chargers - 29-26 W(OT)
Colts - 38-17 W
Broncos - 20-31 L
Falcons - 24-10 W
Bills - 21-11 W
Rams - 17-24 L
Saints - 34-17 W
Jets - 17-16 W
Browns - 27-16 W
Bills - 12-9 W(OT)
Dolphins - 20-13 W
Panthers - 38-6 W

I could keep going on, but I don't feel like looking at just about every Superbowl team this last decade and showing that you don't have a prototypical college line of blow-outs against every other team to become a Superbowl winner. It is a myth, and a dumb one at that.

I don't really get the point.

The point of the thread is that you can remember this team how ever you want. I am going to remember it as a team that overachieved all year and got beat in the playoffs by a team with superior athletic talent.

I don't get it.

All year long when I've said "this team isn't that talented", people would think I was trying to insult the team.

I was actually trying to do the opposite, point out that the team was better than the sum of it's parts.

I would never call them "frauds". I am as proud of this team as I have ever been of any Falcons team.....except for maybe the 2008 team.

Is calling a woman a slut or calling her loose really all that different? One just sounds better to be honest.

What I get from you is that you didn't really think we were all that good to begin with? (A point that I would disagree with, but that's not really the point)

Am I wrong?

Good? I think the team was outstanding. I think the overall talent is slightly above average.

I guess it depends on the expectations of the fan.

Considering the disaster that TD and Smith took over, I wouldn't expect the Falcons to be where the Packers are. Obviously I am in the minority there.

That's cool, like I said, everyone can remember this team how they want to remember it.

If people want to remember them as disappointing chokers, that's cool too.

People aren't going to remember us going 13-3 this season, it's all going to be "the team that got destroyed by GB in the playoffs."

I think it will be mixed feelings. A lot of fans remember the 80 team very fondly, even though it ended tragically.

RE: There are 2 Ways to Remember this Season
I'll tell you how I remember the season. White, Ryan, Turner, Gonzalez making one of the best offenses in the league. After looking at those names twice, you probably realized the same thing I did:

White
Ryan
Turner
Gonzalez

So in essence, the 2010/2011 football season to me was a Spanish language radio channel as part of the Que Pasa Radio network.
