The other 3 games are more important than the Saints game
Sure who wouldn't like to win the next 3 games and wrap up the division and #1 seed with a victory over the Saints, but in reality the 2 games against Carolina and the 1 game against Seattle are more important. Why?
We win those 3 games the Saints game means nothing. What the Saints do means nothing. New Orleans can win out and it wouldn't matter. Via tie breaking procedures, we would be awarded the 3rd tiebreaker in common games. Odds are 3-1 gets us the #1 seed and home field advantage as well. The Saints game is arguably the least important game left on our schedule. We have an amazing opportunity.

RE: The other 3 games are more important than the Saints game
1 loss against Carolina, and a loss against the Saints gives the Saints a better division record, so the Panthers games are the MOST important things. Any combination of 3 wins gets the Falcons the #1 Seed and HFA. We need to make sure we don't look ahead on any game, and we have done a great job of that so far this season.

Yeah...But if we beat the saints after beating the Panthers and Seahawks then are week 17 game wouldnt matter and we could rest our players a bit

RE: The other 3 games are more important than the Saints game
I think we could even lose two games and beat the Saints and still get first in the division. I'm not sure where that would put us as far as HFA, but Chicago is the closest team to us as far as HFA is concerned. They have a seriously tough schedule ahead of them, starting this Sunday against the Patriots.

RE: The other 3 games are more important than the Saints game
But beating the saints would give us a Payback from last year.
then we would sweep the the Division, and make us looks even more unbeatable at home. Every game is should be our Superbowl game from now on (except week 17).

RE: The other 3 games are more important than the Saints game
beating the saints may not be as important for #1 seed and home field in the playoffs. but it sure does mean alot more in many other ways. its always nice to beat the saints. sweep the saints, even better. probably sweep the division (car games should be wins). it would also give so muh confidence going into the playoffs, and may take away theirs

RE: The other 3 games are more important than the Saints game
I'm personally hoping that the Saints lose to the Ravens and Brees gets hit so hard by Suggs that he begins to think he's Kim Kardasian and starts leg humping Bush right on the sidelines.

RE: The other 3 games are more important than the Saints game
It would be best just to win the next 3 and then be chillin in week 17.
Regardless, the Falcons are a mathematical certainty to be the number 1 seed with any 3 wins. |

RE: The other 3 games are more important than the Saints game
As it stands, The two CAR games are the most important....as we have to have at least the same division record as the saints....
BUT The SEA game becomes a MUST win unless NO loses to either STL or BAL because the next tie breaker is common opponents..... If we win the 2 against CAR and one against SEA, the NO game results become irrelevant. To guarantee home field right now the magic number is 3.......13-3 is the best anyone can finish who is behind us. I believe we have the tie breakers against all other teams who can finish 13-3 (IE Bears and NO) We beat Bears by conf record and winning three games would give us common opp over NO..... So right now 3 is the magic number!! Could change soon if Bears lose and or NO lose next

RE: The other 3 games are more important than the Saints game
The second Carolina game is only important if the Falcons lose one before then. Why do tomorrow what you can take care of today? That's the way I think anyway.
Besides, I don't want the Saints to even think they can come into the dome and win in the playoffs. |
