For them not to let him change it, and just lower the boom, just stinks period. especially seeing the mods like rev hal who ive always thought sucked as a mod. not being personal just stating facts.

You are here for the same reason alot of us left shortly after AFMB's newest change with the ads/sidebar. Over the years the moderation has not improved, stability was often a concern on the weekends, spammers and trolls were not dealt with to my liking; it all creates a mockery of what a well moderated discussion forum should be. The ads/sidebar was just a breaking point, for me at least.

I think youll find AFT a better place even if the daily traffic is not as high. Less traffic also means less unnecessary topics created, hence less spam. We have Mods in place, most of which are/were longtime members of AFMB, that are on regularly. They actually MERGE topics, scold/ban people, and have done a good job so far.

He broke the cardinal rule that you do not badmouth your former employers. Doesn't matter how badly you were treated or screwed, it's best just to say there was a difference of opinion. I am NOT defending what the falcons brass, whether that be Dan alone or someone else did to supes. It sucks, plain and simple, and isn't fair. But supes didn't need to make a thread saying falco was "FIRED". That was over the top. I'm sure that came as a shock and crushing blow to him. But he should have cooled down before coming to the boards and typing what he did. I'm not saying he shouldn't have offered any explanation, but I don't think he handled it well. Gritz, I understand he is your friend, so I know you're going to disagree with me on this 100%, but again, let me reiterate I'm not trying to badmouth him.

I've gotten pissed off and posted dumb stuff online too, so I'm not without sin on this one. But I wouldn't have done that to a former employer. If he never got paid a dime, go ahead, rant and rave and raise holy hell. But he had a professional relationship with the Falcons.

Hindsight is of course 20/20, but he could have handled it differently. However, I fault Dan and Jay Adams just as much on this one because THEY should have made this announcement, supes should not have had to say it. They have to be the bad guy on a daily basis, it's their job, so they should have reached an understanding with supes that they would break the news.

You may be sitting here thinking, who is this little 24 year old shit telling a 58 year old man he acted unprofessionally. That's fine, but I'm just offering my opinion. Gritz, I'm not trying to attack either you or supes, please let me make that clear. This entire situation is incredibly unfortunate and could have been handled differently by all parties.

Agree on most points. However Mr. Levak also acted unprofessionally by publically calling out Supe's unprofessionalism. Mr. Levak actually should have never made the post he made, defending his decision publically to terminate Supe's contract. That decision was really none of anybody's business other than the Falcons org. and Supe himself. It just made the Falcon PR Dept. look really silly and even more dim-witted.

Jedi, you are 100% correct on this. I don't know if supes posts here or not, but let me send out my apologies to him for not calling out Dan for being unprofessional. I did in my initial post blame Dan/Jay for this situation in the first place, as they created this monster by A. terminating supes contract, and B. not making that announcement. Gritz, you were very right that supes couldn't have just stopped making the cartoon each week, an explanation would have been demanded and it should have been supplied by management.

But yes, Dan was incredibly unprofessional to post his reaction to supes like he did. I stand by my longer earlier post that he had a valid point, but that doesn't make what he did right, and I had that supes suffered 2 indignation's this week. The whole situation is just unfortunate.

Let me make one last point - we are are INCREDIBLY naive if we think this organization is all about the fans and our entertainment. This is a cold, heartless business, just like anymore. And it reared its ugly head this week.

I joined the AFMB in 2003 to complain about Doug Johnson and the horrible team we had at the time. There were always trolls on that board, but they didn't upset me. In fact, some of them were creative and I thought it was funny, got some good smack talk from the old Bucfans back in the day. However, it got out of control. Every other thread was a troll one and no one was doing anything about it. Then the ads, that was enough for me.

I came here because there's real football talk here, run by people who actually care about the fans. I still post there from time to time, usually in the Braves Forum. However, most of my time will be here from now on.
