The Supes and Hickry firing led to a problem here for me

He broke the cardinal rule that you do not badmouth your former employers. Doesn't matter how badly you were treated or screwed, it's best just to say there was a difference of opinion. It reflects incredibly poorly on someone to badmouth a former employer; as a future employer, how do you know that person won't talk badly about you? If Dan wanted to, he could make it hard for Supes to find work in this area around atlanta.

I am NOT defending what the falcons brass, whether that be Dan alone or someone else did to supes. It sucks, plain and simple, and isn't fair. But supes didn't need to make a thread saying falco was "FIRED". That was over the top. I'm sure that came as a shock and crushing blow to him. But he should have cooled down before coming to the boards and typing what he did. I'm not saying he shouldn't have offered any explanation, but I don't think he handled it well. Gritz, I understand he is your friend, so I know you're going to disagree with me on this 100%, but again, let me reiterate I'm not trying to badmouth him.

I've gotten pissed off and posted dumb stuff online too, so I'm not without sin on this one. But I wouldn't have done that to a former employer. If he never got paid a dime, go ahead, rant and rave and raise holy hell. But he had a professional relationship with the Falcons.

Hindsight is of course 20/20, but he could have handled it differently. However, I fault Dan and Jay Adams just as much on this one because THEY should have made this announcement, supes should not have had to say it. They have to be the bad guy on a daily basis, it's their job, so they should have reached an understanding with supes that they would break the news.

You may be sitting here thinking, who is this little 24 year old shit telling a 58 year old man he acted unprofessionally. That's fine, but I'm just offering my opinion. Gritz, I'm not trying to attack either you or supes, please let me make that clear. This entire situation is incredibly unfortunate and could have been handled differently by all parties.

You have some good points. One thing that is missing though, management handled it by far worse than Supes. If you are a manager you do not get into a silly tit for tat with the ex employee. You are the bigger of the two and just let it go by. When you come out like Dan did it sounds like it was more of a personnel thing and not so much a policy thing.

I did not register here because of the issues with Superfan. I do not necessarily agree with them, but they were not my reason for coming here. I had looked for other AF boards before because I really dislike the amount of trolling that goes on over there. I did not know of this board until yesterday when it was linked to because of the Superfan situation.

So, not everyone joined out of disgust. I joined because I like discussing my favorite sports franchise with other Falcon fans, and I want to be able to do so without having to sift through 46 threads by sicktracy or any number of other jerk offs and their personal vendettas against whatever player they have decided to unreasonably hate.

I also left AFMB because of the trolls, and nothing being done to stop them.

I joined the site because wanted to see how things roll. So far it's 100x better than AFMB, no trolls, good discussion, nice people. Glad to be here.

I will not be really active though, as I prefer footballsfuture.com than any site. But I''l visit weekly and every Sunday for the gameday.

We were like a family here. Just when you start getting used to your family members you have a litter of new offspring to try and figure out. This is a good problem to have for sure Tongue

Welcome to AFT guys! Cool

I was also thinking that once we got around 500-1000 active (posting all the time) we would have a legitimate voice to the Falcons Organization. I'm not saying we don't now, but when you pull 1,000 fans together to make something happen that is a powerful thing.

They say no to the hickry stick, let's give them something that can't say no to. We need to build our voice up. Go invite your friends if you wish. They will probably come in time with the next "upgrade" to the OMB. I personally feel like the fans have been disrespected by all this.

Supes, feel free to have Falco flick the bird Wink
You've handled this situation extremely professionally. That shows your character throughout this. One day I might meet you and then I'll give you a handshake. Thanks for everything you've done for us fans.

RISE UP FRONT OFFICE!

The way the old board is going soons its going to be a ghost town. They keep pissing people off. Some asshole that looks at how many hits that board gets, HEY woiuldn't it be great if we put publix ads and cut the board in half. I'm sorry the whole thing stinks of marketing, instead of leaving well enough alone. How about adding a server or two or upping the bandwidth? Those guys are going to be eventually in time be fired, when all those hits are like a ghost town. Wink

Correct me if I'm wrong Gritz, but I don't think Supes livelyhood depended on his pay from the Falcons!

I'm still debating on posting my feelings on (namely how sick of hearing about it I am) the "supes saga." I have a feeling I would get negged.

welcome aboard !!

It didn't momma......

I have a big surprise coming for you momma. It's a gift from me for being such a great Falcon fan and for being my friend.

I'm working on a really nice painting of Brian Finneran. There's a good chance he is going to attend our next FNCO luncheon on December 7.

I'm going to get Brian to sign a print just for you and I'm going to send it to you at my cost.

Just PM me momma what you want Brian to sign on it.......
