The Saints are still alive....

this took me a long time to get in place.....but after thinking that Dallas win would do it....here is what needs to happen

They have to beat Dallas and Carolina.....they end 8-8

Not sure it matters....but here is how the rest can fall out and I tried to put some realistic outcomes as much as I can.

I put ATL as winning out...thoguh I could easily see us getting the #1 seed against DET on Saturday and resting against TB (but TB is eliminated after today)

So ATL finishes 14-2 (wins over DET and TB)
#2 Seed SF Wins out 12-3-1 (SEA/ARIZ)
#3 Seed GB wins out 12-4 (Ten/Min) Depending on when they play if SF has locked down #2 seed they may choose to rest and let Minn win....they do and this eliminates Saints)
#4 Seed WASH wins out 10-6 (Phi/Dal)
#5 Seed SEA loses to SF beat STL (10-6)

Bears Lose to ARI/DET (must lose both)
NYG Lose to BAL/PHI (must lose both - BAL maybe, PHI....BIG ?? considering they will be looking to improve their draft position)
MIN Lose to Hou/GB (must lose both - this is realistic)
STL must lose one between TB and SEA (Reasonable)
DAL must lose to NO/WASH (must lose both - NO has to win out and WASH needs to win the division.)

Not sure the Bears and NYG don't at least win one

But Guido is right....they are still alive. I just have to believe the Bears beat ARI this upcoming week, but they beat DET.....so who knows. I don't think Phi beats the Giants.....we shall see....

That's some major ciphering. I think I'll let my subconscious chew on that a couple of days and then hit it with a Pentel roller and a yellow legal pad one morning after coffee. My every instinct says they are toast.

I used the playoff generator from ESPN....it took me a long time to get all the games in the right place. That said I don't know what how other games could affect Strength of Schedule....for example if we beat DET then lost to TB it didn't really affect the out come but if some others like GB lost another game ETC I don't know if that would mean the Saints were eliminated because of strength of Schedule ...I imagine they are safe on Strength of Victory after a 41 - 0 win today....

Brose, I think we're committing a particularly egregious sin by continuing to talk about the saints when we could be talking about hilariously terrible the new yawk jets are. The third most arrogant asshole in the NFL, behind only Goodell and Drew Brees, that being Rex Ryan, is gloriously going down in flames. After last night, Sanchize has more turnovers than anyone in the NFL the last two seasons. In a league where Ryan Lindley and Brady Quinn start at QB, that's an impressive feat.

I don't care if you make topics about them at all, but there is only ONE Saints fan here (Hi Guido) and we know if they do make the playoffs (they won't) they will be a non-factor. Let Guido keep reminding us that he still has hope for his terrible franchise, don't do his work for him. He needs something to post about now that Phocis finally shut down his personal bitchfest regarding the bounty stuff.
