The NFC South
I've seen a couple of references made lately to the fact that the NFC South is perceived as being weak. I actually think that might be true, but I just wanted to point out a few things I researched that you can use the next time you are having this discussion with an obnoxious Cowboys fan or Eagles fan.

Since the new divisions were created in 2002:

The NFC South is the only division to have teams participate in the conference championship 6 times.
The NFC South is one of only two divisions to have 3 Super Bowl appearances (AFC East - New England).
The NFC South is one of only three divisions to have 2 Super Bowl wins (AFC East - AFC North).
The NFC South is the only division to have three different teams appear in the Super Bowl.
The NFC South is the only division to have two different teams win the Super Bowl.
The NFC South has 67% of the NFC Super Bowl wins since it has existed.

So tell them to stick that into their pipe and smoke it.

Hopefully the Falcons can make the South look even better after this season.

RE: The NFC South
What I've never understood regarding the teams in the NFC South, is that the Panthers have always been the ones who received respect. Tampa Bay won the Super Bowl in 2002, but have since left the spotlight. Atlanta had it when Vick was here, but receives less attention and respect now, even though they're a better team. New Orleans didn't have it before Katrina. Carolina every year seems to be somebodies pick for the division. It never fails.

RE: The NFC South
So far this year NFC South has the best record in the NFC and are only 1 game behind the AFC East overall.

RE: The NFC South
What's really nice is that I know this chaps the ass of several NFC East loud mouths I know.
