So you're saying they're overinflated and soft? Undecided

Not that I want to crawl through the mud with you guys - BUT .... if they aren't real - chances are - they aren't soft.

This knowledge is based on having brothers who talk too much! Sometimes I hear more than necessary from those guys!

As for the Bucs - they are what their record indicates. It is the one thing we can judge a team on.

I believe that they will face a tougher end stretch. We'll just have to wait and see how they come out on the other end.
====================================================
BUCS

Until Now:

2 road games and 4 home games and a bye week
Browns, Steelers, Saints and Rams at home.
Panthers and Bengals on the road.

Won 4 of 6 games.
Scored 96 points in all games for an average of 16.3 points per game.
Opponents Scored 128 points for an average of 21.3 points per game.
POINT DIFFERENTIAL = -32 or -5.3 points per game.
Total 1845 offensive yards for 307.5 per game.
Opponents Total of 2123 offensive yards for 353.8 per game.
YARD DIFFERENTIAL = -278 or -46.3 per game.

Defense?
They have 5 sacks through 6 games and have given up 14 sacks = -9 on sacks
They have 7 FF through 6 games and have given up 9 FF = -2 on FF
They have 10 interceptions through 6 games and have given up 3 = +7 on ints
TOTAL TURNOVER RATIO = +6

Summary - Opportunistic and Resilient
But - they are not going to continue at this pace winning if they don't get some issues corrected.

They have 6 road games coming up and only 4 home games left. No more byes.

They face Falcons, Saints, Ravens, Cardinals, 49ers and Redskins AWAY
They face Falcons, Panthers, Lions (with Stafford) and Seahawks AT HOME

================================================
I'll break us down next.

FALCONS

Until Now:
4 road games and 3 home games and no bye week.
Cardinals, 49ers and Bengals at home.
Steelers, Saints, Browns and Eagles on the road.

Won 5 of 7 games.
Scored 169 points in all games for an average of 24.2 points per game.
Opponents Scored 133 points for an average of 19 points per game.
POINT DIFFERENTIAL = +36 or +5.1 points per game.
Total 2596 offensive yards for 370.9 per game.
Opponents Total 2493 offensive yards for 356.1 per game.
YARD DIFFERENTIAL = +278 or +39.7 per game.

Defense?
We have 15 sacks through 7 games and have given up 13 sacks = +2 on sacks
We have 7 FF through 7 games and have given up 4 FF = +3 on FF
We have 11 interceptions through 7 games and have given up 5 = +6 on ints
TOTAL TURNOVER RATIO = +5

Summary - Opportunistic, Resilient and more productive Offense

We have the Bye week to work on our problems. Most importantly, we have also faced our biggest nemesis - the 3-4 defenses on 4 occasions - with 2 left - Ravens and Packers - both of which we play at home and we have the bye week to get healthy and work on our issues.

We have 4 road games coming up and 5 home games left plus our Bye
We face Rams, Bucs, Panthers and Seahawks AWAY
We face Bucs, Ravens, Packers, Panthers and Saints AT HOME

====================================================

I must say - I like our odds - and that is my opinion sincerely!

^^^^ What happened there? ^^^^

I think Tandy's reputation as a poster, and mine are clear. Clearly, I did not make all of the points I am credited in that post! Tongue

RE: The Bucs. Are they for real?
Bucs are 31st in the league in rushing D, they let Ivory run wild on them. I'm thinking Turner and Snelling will both have hundred yard games.

I'm thinking the Bucs game will look a lot like the Bengal game, minus the 3rd quarter.

A logical breakdown, Tandy. Someone at Flowery Branch is probably copy/paste-ing your posts, printing them on Falcons letter head and placing it on Smitty's desk.

They will receive a fine Christmas bonus!Big Grin

I love the Falcons and to hell with anyone who doesn't!

You are nothing short of amazing Tandy. I am not a numbers guy because I know they can be read into. But you always give a balanced look at both teams that allow me to see the game in a new light. Thx a ton!!

Morris just painted a bullseye on his team... I hope we smack them down both games.

RE: The Bucs. Are they for real?
Here is one other stat that Tandy left out in her excellent analysis...

Combined Records of Teams that Tampa Bay has Beaten

Cleveland (2-5)
Carolina (1-5)
Cincinnati (2-4)
St. Louis (3-4)

TOTAL: 8-18

Combined Records of Teams that have beaten Tampa Bay

Pittsburgh (5-1)
New Orleans (4-3)

TOTAL: 9-4

I will give credit that Raheem Morris is doing more with limited talent than I thought he could. But it is obvious that Tampa is enjoying their 4th place schedule from the 2009 season. Most teams in the NFL would have just about the same record based on the above combined records.

Of course, this doesn't mean that we will automatically beat Tampa...that doesn't seem to exist in today's NFL. However, it is a stat that shows you WHO they have beaten. An analysis of the Falcons opponents W/L would net a very similar result. The only difference is that Coach Smith isn't coming out saying we are the best team in the NFC.
