You never know how things will eventually turn out.

The Falcons were desperate and courted Parcells vigorously. Parcells feigned interest and made Blank look like a jilted prom queen. Keep in mind that our collective psyche was damaged by the whole Vick/Petrino fiasco.

Parcells flew off to Miami to drive around in his convertible, while Blank was left to regroup and hire a consultant to help him climb out of the hole his franchise had dug. The next thing we hear is that the Giants' Ernie Accorsi had been hired to guide our fearless owner. The news brought nothing more than a collective shrug.

While Miami was basking in the light of their new conquest, the Falcons hired some kid straight off the internet. There were more than just a few doubters.

And now look were we are. The Dolphins look like hot garbage and we are simply hot. This franchise is young, progressive, proactive and is looking great for the long haul.

It just goes to show you. You never know how things will turn out.
