I could have lived with the OT Gabe Carimi ( sured up the oline) traded away next years 1st and 4th for 39th pick TE Kyle Rudolph then our 2nd round pick Demarco Murray RB then move up front of 3rd round pick and taken Hankerson OT Gabe Carimi TE Kyle Rudolph RB Demarco Murray WR Hankerson talk about a fucking potent draft IF TD had that kind of draft EVERYONE WOULD BE GOING NUTS HOW GREAT WE DRAFTED .............FACT ![]() I'm delusional from our playoff loss against GB . Don't take me seriously until year 2413 . - Added by Phocis because of this post. Warned here. Do not remove. |

RE: Team Report says TD Mortgaged away part of the Falcons' future
again i'll put this out, mortgage the future has no validity. we have to know the following, and we don't
1. what slot would we be (both picks) 2 who would TD take there 3 how does THAT guy work out? and bad or good, would THAT GUY have had the same impact for us as he did the team he's with? so IMO we can't say we mortgaged the future without knowing those things, and we won't know those things realistcally until four years down the road. at that point, we can take JJ's career vs the guys we 'might have had' and the comparisons are accurate, and we'll know if we gave too much. i do kind of agree somewhat with your rationalizations of what would equal success/failure, but qualify D for me, 'down the road' = how many years? and for the sake of argument, you really have to stop listing players that were gone before #27, they couldn't have been drafted by us, without another trade of course, and not knowing what a trade up to get that person would have been, it's not something we can even speculate on. neither would the guys we KNOW don't pass 'the filter' and yeah, i know you hate the filter as well, LOL Chew on THAT, Petunia!

But what if 2 of those guys are busts. What if 1? What if in the second round of next years draft there is a better Te prospect than rudolph? The point is, like papachaz has noted in this thread and I actually had a thread started about this as well that nobody paid attention too...lol, we don't know yet. I made a thread advising some of us to have no reaction. We always forget about that option. Everybody tends to either be positive or negative. All this players you just drafted could suck and jones could become better than jerry...lol. the point is we just dont know. |

RE: Team Report says TD Mortgaged away part of the Falcons' future
Did this thread get edited by a mod or something? I could have sworn I replied somewhere in this thread but my post is gone. And I didn't say anything that would have broken the rules and warranted it getting deleted. Maybe I'm going crazy but I remember typing some stuff out on this topic.

Jesus Christ...pull the stick out, put some antibiotic cream on and then try to relax and realize that there isn't a god damn thing you can do about it (other than bitch and moan).

RE: Team Report says TD Mortgaged away part of the Falcons' future
Julio Jones is a rare talent and and even more rare man. He is, as described by Saban, an unaffected man. He is not a boy in a man's body. He behaves like a mature man.
This is in stark contrast to a recent first rounder (Dez Bryant), who was given a whole lot of love on many Atlanta boards last year. Personally, I would prefer to give up two first rounders, a second rounder and two fourth rounders for an exceptional talent that I know will act and perform like a professional. Keep your picks. I support TD's decision and will be happy to live with the consequences. |

Because that's the greatest remark in the entire article. Julio's maturity level and demeanor are freaking incredible. |
