The funny thing is....if you kept watching later it became obvious that Irvin meant that as a positive and Faulk meant it as a negative.

Actually Faulk said it first in the earlier morning show & then in the later show when they were standing he said "afraid" very quietly & Irving then said "scared" & Faulk agreed with him. But then as you said, Irving spun it into a possitive, like the "fear" is what's fueling the Falcon's fire making them more dangerous & on their toes, and then Faulk obviously feeling stupid said "That's what I meant too".

Faulk actually picked the Falcons to win the game when they went around the horn giving predictions.

He's a freaking idiot none-the-less. He did imply this as a negative at first, but then obviously realized how dumb that was & tried to spin it the other way on the coat-tail of Irving. And who could blame him for the correction, it really is the most ridiculous statement you could possibly make. It's obvious the guy doesn't know how to think before he speaks & just spits out stupid by default.

I think it has to do with the media picking GB in the preseason as the "best team in the NFC," after a few months when it was apparent they weren't the best in the NFC the narrative switched to how "dangerous they could be if they make it in as a Wild Card." Now they just want to look super smart. Also I think the media doesn't favor Atlanta because they don't have a flashy style of play. Not to mention the media has been anointing Aaron Rodgers since he took over for Brett Favre. Now their golden boy has a shot and they're cheering him on lustily.
