Some interesting stats to consider
Everyone is all about the Seahawks.....and how many points they score.
Here is something that I find interesting Points for (this season) - Falcons 402 Seahawks 392 (hmm think they may have padded those stats in the last three weeks? ) Points against Falcons 272 Seahawks 232 (their defense is stout....will be interesting to see what happens with Sherman and the suspension appeal that is due a verdict this week) Falcons rank 4th in PA and 5th in PF Seattle ranks 1st in PA and 8th in PF Why do I find this so interesting.....Because other than the Giants we have not really blown anyone out of the water....we have just been consistently good with a couple of hiccups. Many of the PA points have been late in games when we were so far ahead that we were more concerned about making them chew up time than the clock. Now there are others with better numbers....here is why NFC possible playoff contenders GB - Worse in both categories SF - Worse in PF by 32 better in PA by 17 - when you look at some of their games you can question the PA....they faced STL twice and ARI once so far. WASH - better in PF by 6, worse in PA by SEA - Worse in PF by 10, better in PA by 45 - this looks bad until you put it in perspective - they have scored 140 points in the last 3 games alone and have face ARIZ TWICE with their anemic scoring offense, also STL twice DAL - worse in both CHI - Worse in PF by 53 better in PA by 24 - We know about their defense but you must look at their schedule MINN - Worse in both NYG - Worse in both AFC Playoff contenders HOU - worse in both by about 10 DENV - better in PF by 41 worse in PA by 9 - They have faced Raiders twice SDGO twice and KC once so far - NE - PF by 127 (YIKES) and worse in PA - buffalo twice for 89, Jets twice for 78, TENN for 34, STL for 45......then the 59 points against Indy, 42 against Hou BAL - Worse in both IND - worse in both CIN - worse in both - way less PF and close on PA I have heard we had the easiest schedule, but that was based on Win lose records of opponents.....lets take a hard look at that NO - their record sucks....but they are #3 in PF....we all know about their defense this year CAR - a bad win-loss record but they lost 6 games by less than a score as well as lots of injuries TB - Dall - still in the hunt Giants - still in the hunt Denv - one of top in AFC The bottom line is when you look at what we are doing....we allow a lot of yards but not a lot of scoring. When our offense is in rhythm they can score pretty easily...the hardest part is trying to keep the defense well rested.....and that will continue to be problematic. The truth is we are 13-2 and will likely be 14-2 going into the playoffs...the best record despite schedules.....ALL TEAMS in the Playoffs have had suspect games.....I will not list them here but EVERYONE has had one....some more than one. A loss to a team with a crappy record....our two losses....were actually better than most of the suspect losses of others. We are contenders.....WE CAN WIN BIG GAMES....WE CAN MATCH UP WITH ANY OF THE PLAYOFF TEAMS. I think our first match up is likely to be either CHI or SEA.....I think we would destroy CHI (might be tough to score but we should easily be able to stop their offense and mr. cry baby) and SEA and Mr. Wilson have yet to face a defense that disguises everything like ours (we have confused DREW, ELI, PEYTON, RIVERS, RG III, ROMO....while not all of those folks may be considered better than Mr. Wilson and his pumped up QB stats....I can say there are at least 4 on this least that are definitely high on the best QBs in the league.) Bring it on....We will be READY and WAITING |
