Blalock is the only guy that we can trust to perform up to a certain level but even that is declining. Going to have a new RT this season, a new RG and a new C. Konz will have the most in game experience but it wont be at C. And only god knows if Baker will shit the bed again. With 4 seasons of suck to 1 season of good play the odds are not in our favor. O-line could really be a problem point this year if even one of these guys don't pan out.

Come on. The OL is not that uncertain. Baker, Blalock and Konz look good.

IDK, Baker had one good year, no guarantee that he will stay healthy next year. I like Konz, think he will be a great C, just don't know yet because it is only his 2nd year and all of his snaps came at G. As for Blalock, I've been less than impressed with him since he resigned a few years ago, and this year especially he seemed to struggle at times, but as of now he is the most consistent guy on the line. I'm all for getting fresh faces on the OL BTW, we have been mired in mediocrity in the trenches for years now, time to change that.

Baker had a very good rookie season. His troubles started with his injuries. He was healthy last year and it showed. He was re-signed because the Falcons believe that his injuries are a thing of the past.

Blalock has never been a great run blocker, but he works well, in tandem with his LT, to protect Matt Ryan's blind side. Although run blocking is not his forte, it is especially revealing that the Falcons chose to run behind him, in short yardage situations, more than anyone on the right side of the line.

Konz gained valuable playing experience last year. His forte is the game between his ears. He is very intelligent and will be able to call the line plays like a veteran. Additionally, he is more physically gifted than McClure. I think that he will eventually be an upgrade over the Mud Duck.

The real hole in our OL has been at RG. We have not had a Master Blaster at that position for a long time. I really hope that we see a real improvement at that position. If not, we might fall short of the SB again.

Dahl was a good run blocker but not so in passing situations. It is sad to think that Dahl is considered such a great OL. He had one good season with StL and is now viewed as mediocre.

Blah blah Harvey Dahl. He was only considered a good run blocker because he blocked for Turner in his prime. In 2011 after Dahl left turner still had 1340 yards which was tops in the NFC. That was with the patchwork RG situation. I doubt he would have made much of a difference last year.

Good point. Dahl was not a big loss.

TD has been pretty spot-on with releasing players at the right time, historically. I think their self-evaluation is pretty accurate, and makes me give them the benefit of the doubt on keeping players I've not seen perform at the level they seem to think them capable of.
