i'm just wondering why you feel you had more invested in this team emotionally than most? go read tandy's thread on the other board.....

just saying. it made me sick to my stomach, i didn't sleep saturday night, and i'm taking pain meds that MAKE me sleep. I watched the sunday games, barely paying attention.

By monday morning, a return trip to the Doctor for my back injury, i wore my Falcons hoodie i got for christmas, my hat and t shirt. the doc and I had a football conversation. turns out he's a philly fan and wanted to see them come to the dome next week for the championship game. I told him we would have won, and will beat them next year when we see them. He asked me about the level of play saturday night. All i could say was what i'd heard coach smith say earlier this year, we were the better team 13 times this season. saturday we weren't.

i think saying it outloud to a fan from another team, helped me get over it. Not doubting his fanhood, but, he didn't even know we're scheduled to play next year. gave me the feeling i was dealing with a typical bandwagon fan, while i had the love for my team to wear my gear after that debacle on saturday. I won't say we can NOT do something about the areas we lack talent and skill in. but i'm proud to be a Falcons fan.

To Mdrake, prayers going out for your dad, and your family. thankfully there is a treatment for him, and prayers are that he'll have quality in his life, not a life full of pain.

Chew on THAT, Petunia!

RE: So how is everyone doing?
hey guys, sunday completly sucked. did not even want to come on the boards, but I did anyway. Got what I thoughts I had out of my system. Checked in on the games being played. Just kind of depressed most of the day. But as monday came around I said hey time to move on, start looking at what we could be considering as far as offseason free agency pickups. I am, what I am.. and that is a falcoholic... Smile damn proud to be one too...

Rise Up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

All the best to your Dad mdrake. It's just we should've would've could've. We could analyze this season down to the bare essentials but in the end we lost. Badly.

As a long time Falcons fans this season was a success. As an NFL fan it was a disappointment. 13 wins is great,...no Lombardi is another season without a championship. Until the Falcons win a Lombardi, they are losers. imo

I got over it by Sunday night. I still get ignorant jerks at work making fun of the beating on Saturday night.

RE: So how is everyone doing?
I guess it's kind of funny since I spend so much time on the boards, but I just don't care that much about football.

It's entertainment to me. When Matt Ryan threw that pick 6, I knew the Falcons were going to lose. By the time GB scored the next TD to go up 35-21, I was already over it.

The Falcons entertained me much more than I expected them too this year, and I am grateful for their efforts. I always thought it was an uphill battle for them to make the Super Bowl because I thought they were missing several peices.

Maybe I've just had too much real life stress in my life over the last few years, but I don't get remotely upset by Falcons losses anymore.

Much much better. Thanks for asking Hey-zeus. I love the offseason, the rumors, the senior bowl, the combine, FA, the draft, and everything about it(except for the long dog days of summer leading up to the season)

[Image: 2menybt.jpg] Invest in the trenches with high draft picks and we will see both sides of the ball vastly improve.

What if we showed up and lost by a field goal?

Maybe that's the way we should think. If we don't win a Super Bowl it's a fail.

Patriots fans are devastated as are Eagles fans, moreso Pats fans. They have high expectations.

But I agree,...we gotta raise our sights higher. That's what Dimitroff and Smitty are saying, so we expect the best.
