RE: Singletary admits he was a poor sport at end of Falcons game
Clearly, Singletary has impulse control problems. Such issues are classic symptoms of frontal lobe damage. I wonder how many concussions he played through during his HOF career?

Clearly he was more disappointed in himself after the game. Yes, you can be upset at players, but if you don't tell or teach them to take a knee that is something completely different.

The headline should have been: "Singletary admits he was a poor coach at end of Falcons game."

RE: Singletary admits he was a poor sport at end of Falcons game
I think the main thing on Singletary's mind was the fact he might have just lost his job....
Many people thought he'd be fired the next morning. |

RE: Singletary admits he was a poor sport at end of Falcons game
Singletary is nothing more than a class act. He got caught up in the moment. I'm not the most religious person in the bunch but he is a devout Christian and I'm sure he preaches good principles not only to his players but to his family/children. It was just one of those things where he got caught up in the moment and was extremely disappointed. I can guarantee he had an out of body moment and just wanted to get off the field as soon as possible.
For a guy who played so hard and gave 100% everytime he walked onto the field, and I'm sure he does the same as a coach being 0-4 and losing 2 games you probably should have won is extremely tough to swallow. Singletary is fine with me. It was just an out of character moment I completely understand and the fact that he recognized it makes it even more OK with me. I guarantee at the time he had no clue he didn't shake the coaches hand. He was too caught up in it. Also this guy is coaching for his job, I am sure that entered his mind as Bryant's FG went through the uprights. No one wants to get fired on any level and IMO the whole shaking a coaches hand after the game is a BS formality. It's not something every coach should be expected to partake in.

The cross he wears is a symbol of his personal faith... not represented very well by his recent actions regarding this thread but understood by those who believe in the power and need for forgiveness. He has already admitted being wrong and he was. As far as him wearing a piece of jewelry it he has every right to wear it. The NFL doesn't stop players from praying on the field.. nor should they try to tell any coach or player what jewelry is acceptable, hair style or length etc. |

RE: Singletary admits he was a poor sport at end of Falcons game
I got a chuckle out of Reggie Roberts' comments.
And in a good way. We have indeed moved in. 9'ers are in the book -- on to the Browns. Not arguing that WE shouldn't discuss this mind you -- but I'm awfully glad the Falcons are looking to the next game instead of worrying about whether Mike Singletary's lack of class after that game might have hurt someone's feelings. We can talk about it until the cows come home, but I'd prefer the team move on to the next game. |
