Senior Bowl Tuesday Practice Notes - Scott Wright of NFLDraftCountdown
North Practice - Tuesday
Practice Standouts: - California DE Cameron Jordan was downright dominant . It did not matter who he matched up against, Cameron Jordan got past them. Jordan used power moves, swim moves, speed, strength and more to get the job done. Jordan's motor was running high regardless of whether he was outside at end or inside at tackle. The best performance of the 2011 Senior Bowl so far by a wide margin. - Wisconsin OT Gabe Carimi played both guard and tackle today. He was the one tackle who moved to guard who was effective most of the time. Against Stanford NT - Sione Fua, for example, Carimi used his hands to keep Fua's strength at bay. In 7-on-7's, Carimi played left tackle and showed feet and quickness needed to be a starter at the next level. Others: Titus Young, WR-Boise State DeMarco Murray, RB-Oklahoma Sione Fua, DT-Stanford South Practice - Tuesday - Luke Stocker, TE-Tennesse - may have impressed more than any other player in the receiving drills. Stocker started the day blocking extremely well, including on Von Miller in 11-on-11's that stopped the explosive Texas A&M pass rusher right in his tracks. Stocker also showcased soft hands and a tough attitude when he got physical with Zac Etheridge during a play and made a quick cut/catch. Stocker's play of the day was a one-handed touchdown reception where he got past Colin McCarthy. The crowd let out a collective gasp of astonishment following that effort. Derek Sherrod, OT-Miss. State - really fires off the ball aggressively and got to the 2nd level with ease. Sherrod looked extremely comfortable in pass protection, stonewalling Allen Bailey with relative ease on multiple occassions. Derrick Locke, RB-Kentucky - is very quick and really eats up turf in a hurry. On one play Locke got lost in some traffic and by the time I could pick him up again he was already ten yards further down the field. Others: Johnny Patrick, CB-Louisville |

RE: Senior Bowl Tuesday Practice Notes - Scott Wright of NFLDraftCountdown
Is Cameron Jordan the guy who dominated in his bowl game last season? I remember a DE looking completely dominate last season in some game, but can't remember who it was. I also remember that same guy got arrested or something a month or so later.
EDIT: It just dawned on me that it was Adrian Clayborn I was talking about. I think that's right. |

Clayborn dominated Georgia Tech in Orange Bowl last year. |

My guess is he's moving closer to the top 10 if he can keep this going....... looks to me though like more of a 3-4 DE because he is so large. Don't think he's super, super speedy.....definitely a great prospect though. |

Or you may be thinking of Cameron Heyward, who almost single-handedly wrecked Oregon last year in the Rose Bowl. I don't know if he's the best DE out there, but I'm an Ohio State homer and would love to see him as a Falcon. |

If so, I don't think he would be a good fit for Atlanta as a 4-3 at DE....what say you? |

OSU plays a lot of hybrid sets and Heyward lines up a lot of different ways. Most of the time that means a 3-4 and most folks pigeon-hole him that way, but I think he could play either system and be outstanding in a 4-3. He has the right physical tools (6'5", 278 lbs, and very quick). He's rehabbing a shoulder surgery right now, so that may hurt his stock, but I still see him as a first rounder. He gets mentioned a lot in connection with New England, which looks like a perfect fit. Like we've said before though, it would probably be better to address any DE needs in free agency, but if not... |
