RE: Sean Payton agrees to multi-year contract with Saints
First off, no deal is a deal until the Commissioner says it is a deal. If they insist on leaving in essentially the same language that the Commissioner dissed in the first place, it is going to be no deal. Second off, Payton cannot contact the Saints while he is on suspension, so how did this deal happen? If it involved any contact with the team front office then on that basis the Commissioner will be able to extend the suspension by simply not reinstating Payton if he so chooses.

RE: Sean Payton agrees to multi-year contract with Saints
I am kinda glad and quite curious to see what happens next year with the Saints as an organization.. plus.. there will be no excuses... hehehehehehe... But seriously Guido... congrats.. I know you are happy.. Falcons fans have been in similar situations..

Now.. to most of the other folk that have posted in this thread... I can grasp the "Hate" for a longtime rival team.. I know the tradition.. I know the game time rituals.... I have tailgated with the rival fans.. I have not seen this hate and meanness transfer over to a PERSON like this except on the interwebs where its easy.. Personally I won't participate in something that stupid besides.. if I am gonna argue with somebody that heatedly I prolly wanna be where I can lay my hands on them.. at any rate.. this meanness that I see towards Guido goes beyond smack talk. in some cases it seems to mirror the sort of mindless violence you read about sometimes after rival games up north.... 2 Giants fans blitz attack visiting Dolphin fan, Dolphin fan in coma.. never saw it coming Some of y'all need to seriously think about this shit.. Guido is a fan just like us. He can give and take just as well as we can.. in some cases better.. lol lets just keep the meanness out of it? ok ?

False. Herr Fuehrer Goodell will not allow the Saints to ever succeed again as part of his personal, unprofessional, evil vendetta against them.

The reason the deal took so long in the first place was that Payton, his agent, Loomis and the Saints wanted permission, in writing, from the league that they could negotiate a deal in person. The league (aka Goodell) just recently supplied them with that written permission. This was public knowledge if you had been following the story. Secondly, they aren't stupid, they would have adjusted what needed to be adjusted to get the deal approved.

Stupid is not the word I would use. Arrogant is the word and arrogance can make you do stupid things which is how this whole situation came to be.

Huh

makes me so sad to see what it's been turned into

Sorry but guido needs to go, we don't need a resident saints troll posting more here then anyone else, it is a little ridiculous at this point.

Maybe just create a rivals forums and regulated his posting ability to that forum.

Nope. This whole situation came to be because of a stipulation that was almost exactly the same as Bill Parcells had in his contract with Miami and was accepted by the league with no issue. This situation came to be because Roger Goodell made yet another arbitrary judgement which flew in the face of past precedent.
