Robert James 2 yr contract extension
LINK
i'm curious about this. why would his agent negotiate without a CBA? he hasn't made the squad coming out of TC yet, has only been called up when other injuries dictated call him up. i'm just curious, anyone have any input? geesh this is going to be a boring offseason..... Chew on THAT, Petunia!

RE: Robert James 2 yr contract extension
It just a retainer . Robert James Is a nobody but. Special teams prospect so instead of him worrying about does be have a job in the future he went to Falcons front office for peanuts on dollar and guess management felt like he is a bargain and could fill a void on special teams or depth
But another td dud as a draft prospect ![]() I'm delusional from our playoff loss against GB . Don't take me seriously until year 2413 . - Added by Phocis because of this post. Warned here. Do not remove. |

I remember thinking and saying that it looked like we had used a draft pick on a special teams player. Perhaps I underestimated him. He could be brought in light and fast and used as a safety. Other than that he is a special teams guy. |

RE: Robert James 2 yr contract extension
I honestly don't mind using 5-7th round picks on special teams guys that are good prospects to possibly be a steady contributor in the future. I mean, how many times have we seen games be won and lost on special teams? Quite a bit. We need good special teams players that can tackle well and run quick. That's my view on it. Plus, with his speed he can definitely be a backup at a couple of different positions.

Not sure what to make of the signing. Just seems odd. The guy has been a non factor, but if he can be a good special teams guy then whatever I guess...
