I am as shocked as most of you. Before anyone gets Joker crazy, review the facts.

1 Gonzalez has slowed and will retire next season.
2 Roddy White is over used. The pass offense is consequently predictable.
3 Matt Ryan is entering his prime years. He is ready to make use of the weapons.
4 We did not feel that a first round DE prospect would give us a significant upgrade (I think the Bowers knee problem hurt).


We gave up a lot. Two first rounders, a second rounder, and two fourth rounders. But, we gained a lot. Jones is a formidable player. Whether he is better than or equal to Green is immaterial. Jones fits exactly what TD and Smith want.

1. He is extremely fast.
2. He is incredibly big and strong. There is not a CB in the league that can match his size and agility combination.
3. He runs precise routes (very difficult to do at his size).
4. He is tough as nails. He plays and competes through injuries.
5. He blocks like a man.

Yes, we gave up a lot, but we gained a lot in this deal. RELAX. We have plenty of picks left and the talent depth in this draft plays into our needs.

Nobody on our offense can be double teamed anymore. Period. Jenkins couldn't give us that. Our offense was really good already but now it becomes one of the best because we can ram it down your throat or we can throw it over top of you.

That's right. We are planning for a future without Gonzo. Instead of two WR's and an aging TE, we will spread the field regularly with three WR's.

I think it was a fantastic move personally. This team is fairly young with not a lot of holes to fill. This offense with Ryan, Turner, White, Jones and Gonzo=Scary.

The Hawks just beat the Magic too. Another sign it's a good night for Atlanta sports although I'm a Mavericks fan.
