Ray Edwards says he won't play for RFA tender

"They put a first-round tender on me [one-year, $2.8 million], but even if that holds up, there's no way I will play for less than what my backup got," Edwards said. The 26-year-old pass rusher is expected to go on the trade block once the lockout ends. The Falcons are believed to have strong interest.

Time for the speculation to get really interesting.... what kind of deal would it take to get ole Edwards over here? Minny won't flinch unless the compensation is intriguing enough. And I hate to say it, but somebody will most likely be willing to overpay.

yeah i just don't think we have the ammo to swing a trade for him. we could send them a 2012 2nd and a 2013 1st or a 2nd but those picks are so far in the future that i doubt they'd do it. not to mention we'd barely have any picks next year.

I don't know how we swing it considering the picks we already gave up. I loved the trade for Julio, but I would be angry if we gave up even more picks for Edwards.
