RE: Ray Edwards says he won't play for RFA tender
Any team that thinks about giving them a 1st round pick is CRAZY.... Dude is a good LDE but he is not a franchise DE... I think they will probably get a 3rd round pick for him if he happens to be a RFA.
Maybe a 2nd for a desperate team..... package a player with a 3rd or 4th round pick ![]()

Ray Edwards is no Abe but he can be his replacement and since we have all the chips in now with mortgage future picks for a unproven wr what would be so crazy about trading a 1st round pick for starting DE We are a desperate team or we came off as desperate with the trade for Julio and by all indications Vikings want Edwards back so they are not going to come off as lightly and accept a 3rd round pick or any trades of Michael Jenkins & garbage Of course Edwards can play hardball but he also stated he might want to become a full time BOXER link ![]() I'm delusional from our playoff loss against GB . Dude u just want to reply to my post..lol yea the difference is your basing 1 off potential and 1 off proven player now which one makes most sense? is Edwards worth a 1st round pick or 2nd ....probably not is it worth what we traded for Jones....time will tell but one thing is for sure we are in desperate mode now and front office wants to win now ![]() I'm delusional from our playoff loss against GB . RE: Ray Edwards says he won't play for RFA tender
The problem is, Edwards may not even be available at all if no CBA happens and the courts force us to use last year's CBA. No cap and UFA = 6 years. Edwards won't qualify like that.
If he did, however, it doesn't matter if he has a 1st round tender on him, players and money can buy him without having to toss in draft picks too. It's up to Minn to accept the offer or not. |

RE: Ray Edwards says he won't play for RFA tender
i wouldn't blame edwards or anyone else for that matter for saying they won't play for less than their backup.....
i'd love to see us get this guy, but as previously stated, who knows with what's going on if we'll even see an ability to try to trade for him. my expectations as time goes on is the courts are gonna order football played as it was last year, and period negotiations meetings made mandatory until they get something worked out in time NOT to have to go through all this crap again next spring Chew on THAT, Petunia!

RE: Ray Edwards says he won't play for RFA tender
If a new CBA can be worked out, I suspect that the players will get to free agency quicker and teams will have less usage of the franchise tag. If so, then Edwards will be an unrestricted FA and there will be no need to work a trade.
If a CBA is not agree apon and the courts force the league to continue operating under the old CBA, then we will not go after Edwards. In this scenario, Blank may turn his wallet towards the best CB in the league. Don't laugh, it could happen. We all know that a great pass rush will make coverage seem better. Can the reverse hold true? |

I say we re-sign Boone Stutz and then offer to trade him for Edwards straight up, final offer.

RE: Ray Edwards says he won't play for RFA tender
I just think we already have a ray edwards on the roster. I wouldnt mind the pickup but anything more than a 2nd is way too much. If you pay a high price, it better be for a baller. We overpaid for Drob last year, we would be doing the same thing here.
oh snap boone stutz lmao |
