I know we want guys that play regardless, but lets look at it from his side for a second. Vikings have probably broke numerous promises to him (like every team does when it comes to pay). Your backup makes 70% more than you, who here wouldn't have a problem with that? Most of you in this situation wouldn't have it, and your boss would be well aware of your displeasure. Finally, the lockout may have gotten him to truly understand the business side of football. I don't have a problem with anything he said.

If you worked a job for 50,000 dollars a year, and your boss hired you someone to help and paid them 85,000 dollars a year to be your help and maybe replace you, would you have a problem??



He is simply saying pay him a comparable/better wage than the guy who is riding the pine behind him, or let the other guy play. The boxing talk is so the Vikings know he has other options, but everyone knows the money isn't close and while you do take beatings in NFL it is nothing compared to the damage a boxer takes usually. He would much rather play NFL football and earn the millions doing something he loves than box making tens of thousands while loving it. It is easier to box as an amateur and not get killed than to play decent football as an amateur.
