RE: Randy Moss is about to be a Viking
If this happens, it really lowers the Falcons' chances to go to the superbowl this season, and I hate to have to say that. Moss will stretch out the field big time for the Vikings and allow Peterson to get those big ground plays again. Brett Favre will be able to heave it and actually have a reason to do so. Then, when Sidney Rice returns (If he returns this season), uh-oh.

RE: Randy Moss is about to be a Viking
It would be self destructive to sign Moss, really why go now for now and then be screwed tomorrow. I would hate it if TD spent first round style money on a guy who will be gone in a few years. Longevity and sensible investments, not these high risk unsure reward options. TD hasn't missed on two many of his draft classes. Each one has had someone come in and start doing the business. Were it not injury Willy Mo would probably be touted as one of the best young Safeties in the league right now. So far he is having a Jarius Byrd type season.
We will get guys in who are young and can be with us for the long haul. Away from that Mularkey would have put more deep routes in for Moss (Not that is hard) but they both seem like on my terms kind of guys. |

Pats likely to get 3rd round pick for Moss
Pats likely to get 3rd round pick for Moss
Posted on: October 6, 2010 8:22 am Posted by Josh Katzowitz On a day that figures to be very Randy Moss-centric, let’s get the news started early. ESPN’s Adam Schefter is reporting that when the Moss-to-Minnesota trade is complete – most likely some time today (funny how quickly these things happen sometimes, eh?) – the Patriots will receive a third-round pick in return. Remember, the Raiders traded Moss to the Patriots for a fourth round pick who turned out to be former University of Cincinnati standout John Bowie. Quick aside: when I talked to Bowie that day – I was working at the Cincinnati Post – he had just gotten out of church. I said, “So, you were basically traded straight-up for Randy Moss.” Naturally, he wasn’t real comfortable with the idea. Anyway, when Moss was traded from Oakland to New England, he had 676 career catches for 10,700 yards and 50 touchdowns. In his four seasons in New England, he’s added 259 catches, nearly 4,000 yards and 40 touchdowns. So yeah, that’s probably worth a draft pick that’s one round higher. Also, as Schefter points out, the Patriots will have double picks in the first four rounds of the 2011 Draft, because of all the wheeling and dealing they’ve done. Say what you will about how the Patriots seem to trade away talent when the depth behind that talent isn’t that great – think Moss, think Richard Seymour, think Deion Branch – they likely will have one hell of a draft. |

Great move for Minnesota. Moss is going to play with a serious chip on his shoulder. The last time that happened he scored 23 TDs.

Wow.... Moss for a 3rd round pick? AND they're not going to give him an extension?
I thought they would have gotten more for him. But I guess it makes sense because if Farve leaves and the Vikings become a run heavy team again Moss will revert back to a pain. It will be interesting to see what happens with the Pats without Moss. GEAUX Falcons!!!! http://a.espncdn.com/photo/2010/0926/nfl...1x_576.jpg |

I've seen all of Minnesota's games this year and I haven't been impressed. The addition of Moss while a good one, doesn't scare me and make me think they are some unbeatable force.

They are smart (most of the time) and don't pay big money to declining players. So they got what they could while they could. They managed to blow up the Dolphins without Moss touching the ball. They should be fine, and they will clean up in the draft next year. |

Well it's a dominoe effect. It not only makes them better on the outside, it pushes Harvin back into the slot, where he is fantastic. When Rice comes back, if he comes back full strength, for get about it. This offense is going to be "Greatest Show on Turf" stuff. And the Vikings have a damn good defense to go with it. So....i think it is an incredible move for the Vikings, especially since Moss is going to be playing with a big chip on his shoulder. |
