Questions for those who think Vick is horrible for dogfighting

I know there won't be a winner in this disussion. But ask yourself, what is the objective of a thread like this? To have an intellectual conversation between someone who hunts deer/fish, and someone who thinks dogfighting is ok? There is no solid purpose in a thread like this. I don't see how a logical, well thought out conversation can stem from a topic like this.

It's been 3 years since this whole ordeal happened. Yet, people are still trying to condemn him for his actions. Yes cruel and inhumane, but why are we so quick to jump on his ass for something illegal, yet we aren't jumping on Donte Stallworth, or any other athelete/celebrity who has committed a crime? It's all because he was once a former Falcon.

If he wasn't a Falcon, we wouldn't be discussing this year after year. It's over, it's done with, and people need to move on. If you want to cheer for him, by all means knock yourself out. If you despise him, boo him as loud as possible when he visits the Dome. If it doesn't pertain to Vick playing football, I think any thread about Vick/Dogfighting doesn't belong on these boards or anything else Falcon related.

With that said, i'm not going to make a majority decision and close this. If I had it my way, it would have been deleted, and every thread like this would be deleted. There's no good that could possibly come from this, as Chuck Norris and Tony Grazziani have proven.

I understand what you're saying, but this isn't a thread about Vick the person. It's about the differences between the crime Vick committed in relation to hunting, and fishing.

What exactly is there to discuss? One is legal, one is not. One group of people find the other offensive. There really can't be a positive discussion that stems from this. I'm sorry I just don't see it. After going 3 years, of dealing with the same threads over at AFMB, I am sure almost everyone else here feels the same way.

Some people like rap others do not.

Most beliefs are captured from the area in which you grew up. If you grew up hunting then you more than likely you wont stop.

We have laws that are based off of many peoples combined beliefs. Some laws you like, others you don't.

What Im saying is that the law permits people to do certain things. If they aren't breaking the law then their acts are in the majority vote of approval.

That doesn't mean the law isn't flawed. It just means is up to personal interpretation.

So in the end, everybody is wrong.

But I agree in a sense. I hate sports hunters, they are no better, it's just legal. I have no problem with people who hunt to eat. But those fat rednecks on TV that go to Russia just to shoot a bear on a guided hunt. #### on 'em.

But Mike Vick was a millionaire and could not find a better way to spend his time and gifts than to be a complete sadist?

Arthur Blank made Vick the highest paid player in the game at the time. Vick had several run-ins with the law and PR issues (water bottle, Ron Mexico, flipping off fans and several other incidents) indicating a totally selfish attitude and a disregard for the Atlanta Falcons.

When the dog fighting came to light he never apologized. When it was revealed that he brutally took part in killing under performing dogs, no apology to the Falcons and fans. Sent to prison, no apology.

And now some wonder why he should not be welcomed with open arms, forgiveness and a bygones be bygones attitude. When hunters electrocute deer and fishermen smash their catch against the side of the boat and toss them overboard then the Vick apologists can have a case.

As for my view, no forgiveness and no forgetting.
