Questions for those who think Vick is horrible for dogfighting

Sorry for not posting this in the other thread, but I wanted some direct responses to this.

People who hate/condemn Vick for killing dogs:
Do you hate or condemn hunters or fishermen who do it simply for sport and don't eat what they kill?

Do you hate or condemn horse trainers and jockeys who raise animals to aggressively engage in an activity that, while being part of their nature, is not their sole purpose of existence and deprives them of a "regular life"?

Hell, if the human race died tomorrow, would you will the dominance of earth to the canine species?

What Vick did was terrible, but it was terrible for the same reasons hunting for sport and horse racing are IMO. Animals should not be needlessly killed(I.e. Not for food) and should not be deprived of a regular, abuse free life simply to make money for their owners and gamblers. If you agree and support my thinking or if you disagree and flame me, please post your thoughts on this.

And remember, at the end of the day we are all Falcons at heart. Thanx.

Are you trying to compare a dog to fish?

I find it pathetic that people try to make it seem Vick didn't do any wrong.

If deer aren't killed, then you'd be totaling a car every couple of years. The population of deer needs to be controlled. Not to mention, a lot of people eat the animal they shoot and kill. Was Vick killing those dogs to have for dinner? Vick abused, then inhumanely killed those dogs. He didn't even have enough respect to shot them in the head. They hung, and electrocuted those dogs rather than kill them quickly.

Like Poker said, the way Vick went about this was absolutely sick and inhumane.

People eat fish and birds. Do Americans eat dog? For what purpose would you inhumanely kill a dog? Please don't tell me that they are the same. People in other countries eat dog. The difference is that they don't torture the dogs, then punish them through electrocution and hanging when they are ready to eat.

Please show me where a horse is being hung, and electrocuted when they haven't preformed to expectations.

I don't hate or condemn Vick - but what he did disgusts me - just as sport hunting and sport fishing disgusts me. I know that people do it because they are raised that way - just as he was - it's a part of their life and seems normal. But I will never understand how anyone can take pleasure out of killing anything. I don't understand Bull Fighting, Cock Fighting or Dog Fighting. I don't understand brutality against creatures who have done you no harm. No creatures.

Killing for food, survival and health are normal instincts in mankind. Killing to prove you are "superior" or for sport to me suggests that you need outside reassurance to prove who you are - that you are superior. Rite of passage or whatever, I don't get it.

But, let it go. While I can't say that I could ever truly understand the pleasure received torturing, maiming and killing those animals - I believe that is behind him - he's learned and he's trying to turn his life around.

Threads like these just keep the fires stoked and make the emotions too high - all you do is stir up emotions and cause conflict among the fans.

Let it go and let the man live his life - and don't try to push your feelings on others. The people who haven't forgiven him yet may in time - if you stop rubbing it in their faces.

Hunting is legal, dog fighting is a felony. That's really all you need to know.
