Question to yall, Doesn't Vick look like he did with Reeves? a page out of Dans book
Question to yall, Doesn't Vick look like he did with Reeves? a page out of Dans book. Last night, watching that game, was like Vicks first season, and doing everything that Reeves tried to do with Vick, take adavantage of his strengths.
It was like Reid went back and watched the films and took notes. Shows you how bad Mora and Knapp screwed him up. We'll BVG and the the D-cons that will face Vick need to take a page out of the Eagles and Bucs book back then how to beat Vick, Remember in the Diviosional playoffs what the Eagles, did? Held the ball long and blitzed the crap out of him and not wait till after the 3rd TD like the Deadskins did. This next game against the Gaints will really tell how he is, THe redskins suck period, THe Giants have the best D-line in the NFL and the Eagles O-line is patchwork. Will be a good game. Go Giants.

Last night, watching that game, was like Vicks first season, and doing everything that Reeves tried to do with Vick, take adavantage of his strengths. Yes, he does look like he did with Reeves. The lack of interceptions. The quickness. The third down rating . . . . But it is not the coaching. It is Vick. I don't think we will ever know the full effect the weed had on Vick. But I know one thing: Fumbling does not have anything to do with a coaching scheme. He fumbled a ton with Mora, none this year. And we know he was SO addicted to weed that he tried to take it through a freakin' airport (post 911!!!) AND, when his liberty was in the balance, he STILL was lighting up. He tested positive while awaiting sentencing. (C'MON MAN!!!) Vick noticeably slowed in his later years here. The FIRST thing I noticed when he came into the that first (Packer?) game this year was the QUICKNESS that had returned from the Reeves full season. I'm also curious about his weight. I would not be surprised if he gained 20 or more pounds from the Reeves years to the Mora years. . especially towards the end. I think he's slimmed back down now. RE: Question to yall, Doesn't Vick look like he did with Reeves? a page out of Dans book
Vick never threw a lot of interceptions. He just didn't. He was extremely prone to turning the football over by fumbling - but not interceptions. He just doesn't take that many shots in the air and only when it's clear. He also doesn't throw the ball away very often - instead - he'll run around with it and find ways to spring free and run. That's where the fumbles come in.
His lack of interceptions this year doesn't surprise me or awe me - that's Vick. The fact that he's only fumbled twice - that impresses the hell out of me. Shows how much more mature he is. Vick doesn't look like he did with Reeves either. He looks like a quarterback now. For the first time in his career - he seems to be thinking like a quarterback - although he still likes to be Prime Time - he loves the glory. Vick always played his best when he was in the spotlight. Remember though, he is putting on the performance of a lifetime because he wants that HUGE paycheck. I just hope he continues to perform that way after he receives it .... UNLESS .... it is in Carolina. Then I hope he plays like shit. ![]()

That's where the fumbles come in. There was a point where Vick was more prone to throw ints.... I'll never forget it. He probably had his 2 best games as a Falcon against the Steelers and then the Bengals.... then we played the Browns and Lions, (that btw ended up with the 2nd and 3rd overall picks), and Vick had 6 turnovers... 2 picks and a fumble in each game. Of course that was most likely because Vick wasn't properly preparing and was listening to his entourage telling him how good he was. Who knows what effect keeping Reeves would have had with Vick? It might not have changed a thing or Reeves might have been that father figure that Vick could have used in his life instead of a coach that was also his fan. Oh well... it's good to see Vick playing like this I just hope I don't ever see it against us. GEAUX Falcons!!!! http://a.espncdn.com/photo/2010/0926/nfl...1x_576.jpg |
