I put as much stock in that as the rumblings for Ryan rumors. He'll be fine when he has a good game and the next win - all will be forgiven - until the next bad game!

Man I had an incredible view of that, my seats were right down there in that endzone. That was one of the more viscious blind side sacks I can remember a QB taking.

Considering the absolute dog poo of players we have gotten rid of that were on the 08 team, how can you consider BVG bad with what he was able to accomplish? Sure we didn't have a top 10 defense, but get real, we had either young or bad players all the way around. Crisp Houston, No sack Anderson, Slow Brooking(wait lets cover the short guy on 3rd and 16), Ole' Man Miloy, geez and I am sure I am missing a whole bunch more. We now have decent talent and the defense is showing the effects, playing good ball. Give the guy a chance, I doubt many could have done better with the talent at hand, especially the depth talent.

Ignorance can be educated.....Stupidity is to the bone.

Our line-up in 08...

Abraham, Grady Jackson, Babineaux, Anderson.
Brooking, Lofton, Boley/Wire
Foxworth, Houston, Chevis Jackson, Grimes
Coleman, Milloy

When your best CB is Foxworth, you've got problems. Don't even get me started on Boley, Houston, Milloy, Jackson, Brooking, and Anderson.

Quarterback controversies are team killers. When part of a team likes one QB and another faction likes the other they become a little dysfunctional.

Of course they are paid professionals and should perform as such but human nature doesn't work that way.

If Flacco is replaced his confidence will be severely damaged.

I love the Falcons and to hell with anyone who doesn't!

Man, I remember that. I think Brooking hit him in the drive before that and made him fumble - then Brady got the 2 points out of that one - Vicious, Vicious hit!

The Falcons have been competitive each of the last two years despite the defensive coordinator.

The Falcon defense was 29th in the league under Zimmer but has improved each year under Van Gorder.

1) Because Mike Zimmer is a guy whose players will go to the mattresses for him. I don't have that same impression with the Falcons and BVG.

2) The Falcons defense in 2008 benefited mightily from the performance of the offense. That will make any D look better. The 2007 D didn't have that advantage.

3) I think Zimmer gets as much from his talent as any DC in the league. The Bengals ranked 12th in total D in 2008 (up from 27th in 2007), the Falcons 24th (up from 29th in 2007). In 2009, it was 4th and 21st respectively. I think the Bengals have had superior personnel in both seasons, but not by nearly enough to justify that kind of gap. Also, the Bengals D hasn't been assisted by their offense to the same degree Atlanta's has. I don't question that the Falcons D is headed in the right direction, but the Bengals are already there and they got there faster. You could point out their crash-and-burn against NE in Week 1 as evidence of problems, but I think what they did against Baltimore in Week 2 was much more indicative of who they are.

4) Jesus - I think you might have had a Freudian slip there when you said 'the Falcons have been competitive each of the last two years DESPITE the defensive coordinator'. Remember, I'm talking about coordinators here, not the rest of the D.

Flacco aint goin nowhere.

Baltimore doesn't seem that dumb to stir up a QB controversy after their 2nd game of the year.

He just had a bad day....that's all.

They aren't - it's probably Lombardi and Dukes at work again.
