14 Atlanta Falcons
Last Week: 9 Atlanta Falcons (0-1) There's nothing to panic about in Atlanta, but I do wonder if the Falcons offense has enough weapons to truly play with the big boys this year. I like head coach Mike Smith, but that clip of him pulling a hamstring while running down the sideline to call a timeout is pretty funny. Link |

We've got plenty of weapons. We just need to use them correctly.

The Panthers are WAY TO LOW.
We couldn't run, they couldn't run. You get both machines going, you have some pretty good teams.

Thats like Having an f-16 and not knowing how to fly it, compared to having a pocket knife and knowing how to use it...
We have all the Weapons we need. Problem is we just dont know to operate all the controls to fire those weapons. |

Week one power rankings. Preseason rankings are as much about guesswork as anything and the ratings tend to over-react to week one results. Mike Smith probably tore his gut when he read them.

Somebody already hit on the Panthers for me. He needs to look at the gameplan and the low amount of rushing attempts instead of the amount of first downs. There's way too much talent in the backfield for him to drop the team that low based on one poor performance.

RE: Power Rankings - Don Banks CNNSI.com
The Panthers could be top 10 or bottom 10 depending on how Jimmy Clausen does in my opinion. I've always seen him as a winner who could step in right away and help compete, but the few plays he did show against New York weren't promising. Moore definitely isn't the answer, so it really relies on that position for Carolina. As for us, I think a lot of it comes down to two very small things. 1: It was Dunta Robinson's first piece of competitive action since he was in Houston, and it showed. With that said, he is still one of the most talented corners in the division, and that will show within the next few weeks. He may very well be our key players on that side of the ball, and we need him to play like that. The second thing that I think it boils down to is place kicking. If we have an above average kicker, we beat the Steelers in my opinion...plain and simple.

Clausen has the kind of face you just have to punch. How long before Steve Smith actually does it?
