If there is one player that could dramatically affect this offense in the most positive way it would be him. Roddy and Fitzgerald on the same team would be downright scary. Interestingly enough I think this would do wonders for our running game as well. Yeah, go ahead and stack 8 in the box and leave Roddy and Fitzgerald 1 on 1.

Us not even attempting to sign Haynesworth or TO etc... are one thing, and completely understandable, but if a player of Fitzgerald's athletic ability and character becomes available and we don't even make a serious attempt then I will have to completely reevaluate my opinion of the staff.

Too bad the CBA situation will probably muck things up even more.

Oh don't get me wrong I would love Fitzgerald on and off the field but I just dont think we get him and to Swift if we do upgrade at WR HD may be out because you have

WR1 Roddy
WR2 Jenkins/ New guy
WR3 Jenkins/ New guy
WR4 Weems (Return and ST ability get him a spot)
WR5 HD/Meir/Maybe another rookie

Just saying he could lose out

I agree, I don't think we'll get him either, the Cards would be downright stupid to let him get out of there. But if he hits the market we better be in the mix!

I agree he is one player like Aso that has talent and character and they rarely hit the FA market.

In saying that the Cardinals did not win a superbowl with him & boldin it takes a team and you cannot spend too much in one position

I posted this in another thread, and will repost basically the same sentiment here. Outside of Roddy, THERE SHOULD NOT BE A SINGLE WR ON OUR TEAM WHO'S JOB IS SAFE heading into next year. We need competition at WR and if some fan favorite overachiever gets cut to make room for a guy who's going to open up our offense, boo-fucking-hoo.

Our co-ordinators are not safe. Especially BVG.

Turner is not safe, should split time with a rookie speed back next year.
