He would still come with a price tag and I don't know how much we are willing to spend for another WR.

He would like to come here but at what cost.

I'm pretty sure he'd take 3 Years 40 Million.

RE: Position break down who is safe
Offensive players safe:

QB: Matt Ryan
FB: Ovie
WR: Roddy, Jenkins
TE: Gonzo (if he doesn't retire), Palmer
OL: obviously whoever we re-sign out of the big three. Sam Baker.
DL: Babineaux, JA55, Peters, Jerry, Biermann
LB: Spoon, Nicholas, Lofton
CB: Grimes, Robinson
S: Decoud, Moore
ST: Weems, Bryant
Coaches: Smith

-------------------------------

QB: Redman and JPW are serviceable backups, but because they aren't the starter, they are not safe.

HB: I really don't think anyone is safe. Turner has been stellar for us, but we as fans know he is wearing down. His production value is still high and maybe the FO sees this and makes a draft day trade for more pieces. Norwood unless he takes league minimum will be gone. Snelling could remain on the team if the FO does a draft day trade involving Turner. Ovie is staying. We have no other option

WR: Douglas will need to do something to give us a reason to not let him go. Meier is coming back from injury and could replace him as the #3. Finn is old and possibly hangs it up.

TE: Peelle will only be brought back if TG retires, otherwise I don't see us keeping him.

OL: whoever doesn't get re-signed from the big 3, will be let go for salary reasons. I would love to bring all 3 of them back but it's not possible.

DL: JA98 showed better skills this year. I still don't think it's enough for him to be gauranteed a spot here. I don't remember seeing much of Vance Walker out there either.

LB: Peterson is old, and Coy Wire has basically been a special teams contributor.

CB: Owens should have been cut after the game. Franks will hopefully impress in the off-season, and maybe Brian Williams will learn how to tackle as well.

S: Coleman is good for depth, but probably will never start for us barring an injury to Decoud or Moore. Schillinger doesn't seem like starter material to me.

K/P: Koenen dropped drastically late in the season. Not sure what to make of it.

Coaches: get a new S&C coach, I can only dream of a new OC, and BVG is probably safe. everyone else seems to be ok. Maybe get a new CB/DE coach?

RE: Position break down who is safe
I think those guy's roster spots are safe, but they may get way less time. Hopefully Jenkins will be a 3 or 4. He has played better of late, but he can't be depended on to separate OR to go up and fight for the ball. That's the description of a good 4 receiver.

Similarly, hopefully Turner's load is greatly reduced. I think I might be one of the few on here who just doesn't like his game. I don't like having a 250 lb back who can only run forward, and then a 180 lb back who is a receiver. I like 2 guys who can do both, with one being slighly better at one aspect, and the other better at the other. That way, you can still keep the defense honest.

Lofton is safe, but I'm hoping he's no longer in on nickel. We need two OLBs in on nickel.

I feel the same about a few other positions. Basically an upgrade at DE, WR, RB, TE is necessary, and a nickel CB, ballhawking free safety, etc. could really help. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see two new WRs next year, given how few catches our WRs had outside of Roddy.

RE: Position break down who is safe
Harry Douglas was coming off knee surgery we also have to remember that plus he had rarely any balls thrown his way its just the offensive system as whole is putrid ..Stick Harry Douglas on Saints he is like Lance Moore . It comes down to system and plugging them in .

You got Danny Woodhead on Pats making plays is he talented no but he fits a system
and makes plays and has speed and agility to miss tackles

I'm delusional from our playoff loss against GB . Don't take me seriously until year 2413 .

Well, maybe that's the cost of victory. We can afford him. We may not be able to afford not to get him. If there is one player that could dramatically affect this offense in the most positive way it would be him. Roddy and Fitzgerald on the same team would be downright scary. Interestingly enough I think this would do wonders for our running game as well. Yeah, go ahead and stack 8 in the box and leave Roddy and Fitzgerald 1 on 1.

Us not even attempting to sign Haynesworth or TO etc... are one thing, and completely understandable, but if a player of Fitzgerald's athletic ability and character becomes available and we don't even make a serious attempt then I will have to completely reevaluate my opinion of the staff.

Too bad the CBA situation will probably muck things up even more.

That Fumble was on Rayn he dropped the ball, not McClure

Zodiac, McClure is also OLD and is undersized compared to the rest we need to upgrade, in all the weak links. Wink hes been a great falcon, but we got to get to the new.

We also drafted a guy named Joe Hawley to take his place.

Weems is here, we have 5 positions and we could have 6, we need to part ways with JA98, they could get another spot, from dropping somebody. HD, is going to come back, you ever watch carson palmer his first year, if anybody got near his legs he jumped, their questioning their ability and safety, in football you can't think like that, just do it. Like HD used to do. If he doesn't they can drop him pre-season. Wink
