People argue that we are not elite in any aspect of the game. Well Im pretty sure that the only thing that matters in Football is SCORING which last time I checked we were pretty good at doing and preventing people from doing.

We are 5th in Offense

I think we are very good, but I don't think we are elite. The Saints showed us that Monday night. They took away our third down safety choices in Roddy and Tony, and forced us to go elsewhere, and while Jenkins made a couple of good grabs, it wasn't enough to keep the defense guessing. We need to get other guys more involved overall, and the play calling needs a big improvement for the playoffs. I hope the offense proves me wrong Smile

I agree with Hart. We are good, but not Elite.

Exactly what I was thinking...we are a very good football team, capable of beating anyone on any given night, but until we get the playcalling addressed and our tendancy to leave plays on the field on both sides of the ball, we won't ever reach elite status. I am, however, confident that we can reach that level. We still need to add some more playmakers on offense and defense. Mularkey is too inconsistent at times...he's a genius one minute and an absolute dunce the next...we need consistency in the OC department. If we can shore those things up this offseason, we'll be well on our way.

Another huge factor in our success is the discipline the team shows on both sides of the ball. Leading the league in least penalties is huge. That's due to great coaching, IMHO. Again, not so sexy but so very important.

I think we have enough playmakers on offense.
How many more can we have? We practically have half the offense for the nfc pro bowl.

We will be elite when we have an elite play caller on the offensive side of the ball. We have the weapons they just need to be used correctly.

Yeah and we especially need for him to not fumble the ball when we're less than 5 yards from the endzone. That REALLY killed us against the Saints.

The way teams have shut down our running game lately has been a little concerning. It would be nice if our passing game could bail us out but it seems like if we go into a game where we're committed to the run we're not going to change that no matter what.
