No way ....Im nowhere close to the point to think we need to replace Ryan ..Ryan has his flaws but he is a very good QB .I would say 9-13 range on a QB list ..I would put Ryan with the group pairing of Schaub, Flacco, Sanchez , Freeman ..I would give it 2 more years if we dont have any playoff success then I think we should start looking in another direction .. ![]() I'm delusional from our playoff loss against GB . Who broke into Swift's account and posted a quality, reasoned response? I fully agree with everything whoever stole his password just said.

Do you know that one player can't achieve playoff success by himself right? How in the hell can you pair him with Sanchez because he has not improved as much as people make it out to be. He could of had way more picks than he had for the season. He had 15 passes that he threw straight to the opposite team that were dropped by the DBs during the season and he still throws very carelessly. Flacco's stats were horrible in all of his playoff games as well, except for this past season when he played an overrated Chiefs team that went 2 and 4 in a still pretty bad AFC West. The only reason why he has as many playoff wins as he does is because of something called..........THE BALTIMORE RAVENS DEFENSE!!!!!! I don't have anything against Schaub, he is just in the same boat as Ryan because both of them are pretty damn good quarterbacks that don't have a defense that can come though in certain situations and can help give them the ball back without giving up another touchdown first so they can correct their mistakes. |

If Ryan had half the defense Flacco and Sanchez have had, he'd be right behind brady and manning. Those two guys are favored thanks to their defenses.

(03-23-2011 07:40 AM)Swift Is a Die Hard Wrote: Of course both Ryan and Rodgers are not in the same class as Brady or Manning because they both are already future hall of famers and have been extremely good for over 10 years or longer. If Ryan had a defense to fall back on he would be close to the discussion of being in the same class as Rodgers, Rothlesburger, or even Rivers. Peyton Manning was declared an elite QB before he actually started having success in the playoffs which it took him almost 5 years just to get his first playoff win. In 2006 when Manning won a Super Bowl, the Colts defense struggled a little through the regular season but became one of the top defenses onces the playoffs came around and that was the reason why he was able to finally make it to the Super Bowl. Brady had good defenses during the 4 years that he went to the Super Bowl. All of them were in the top 10 of defenses except for the 2003 year but they still made big plays in crucial situations that year. I am not saying that Ryan is the perfect QB because he is not but I feel strongly that he will eventually enter the top of the elite QBs discussion in a few years and then nobody will have a problem with it except for people who just love to hate on the Falcons. All I'm saying is just that having a defense that can hold up in crucial situations will help Ryan achieve success because the defense failed to do their job in both playoffs games an he wasn't able to recover from his mistakes like Flacco and Sanchez can do to them having good defenses that can help them out. |

Thats fine but are you willing to criticize TD so far for not putting a reliable defense on the field its been 3 years since he took over the team. The defense has been awful in both playoff games but Ryan didnt help the teams cause with his team 2 ints. Sanchez and Flacco while playing under superior defenses also didnt put there teams in harms way with crucial ints in playoff games..WE WIN AND LOSE as a team and most of the time the QB gets the brunt of the criticism but most of the time he gets the accolades that go with it as well. I feel as a fan base we are falling into that MIKE VICK ONE where the QB can do no wrong its everything around him from the defense, to the wrs to the OC all the excuses but to be honest Ryan needs to step up in these playoff games and not fold like he has That bolds for the defense that TD put together and Smitty and the coaching staff ![]() I'm delusional from our playoff loss against GB . Because I can recall Flacco's recent playoff game against the Steelers win he threw an interception late in the third quarter that allowed the Steelers to tie the game in which the Ravens ended up losing. I'm not criticizing TD and Smitty but I blame them a little, it is not their faults that the Falcons defense collapsed badly in those two playoff games(especially the one against the Packers), The blame goes on the players not tackling and covering effectively and not rapping up Rogers correctly for sacks. |
