RE: PASSER/RECEIVER ANALYSIS
Updated with Week 3 numbers - I'll move this back to the Featured area after it's had a little while to circulate!

RE: PASSER/RECEIVER ANALYSIS
Thanks again Tandy, looks great for the numbers in game 3.
Makes me firmly believe(as I did before), that if you want Ryan to excel you have to upgrade the O-line to give him time to look around and make the great pass. Ignorance can be educated.....Stupidity is to the bone. |

Yeah you are amazing, and I personally think you have too much time on your hands .I hope that Jenkins comes back this week and the percentage of targets going to Tony and Roddy drops down into the 40% range, instead of over 50 where it is now. The Falcons are going to have to throw the ball more than they have in the last two games and I think the be the most effective, they are going to have start getting something from Jenkins, Douglas, Finneran, Weems. I don't think it would be unreasonable to expect 7 or 8 catches per game from that group. So far this season that group has a total of 13, and only 1 catch on Sunday. |

What is the Saints defense known for? Take aways. I think the game plan going in was to protect the ball at all costs. Honestly, this was not the right venue for opening up the passing game or spreading it around. We needed 1st downs at all cost. It was vital to keep the high powered offense of the Saints on the sidelines and not be foolish with the ball. Even then, we still had that fluke hit on the foot which caused a turnover. Which led to what? I think they planned this game right on the money and that's why we are on top in the division right now. We'll see different sides of the offense as the nature of the defenses we face changes. In our first and second game, Tony G. didn't get a lot of play at all, but in this game - he was exactly what was needed. He was physical enough to catch it while in coverage and get the first downs when needed. Ryan tried to get Harry involved - but it wasn't his day. ![]()

RE: PASSER/RECEIVER ANALYSIS
These are my times for Roddy's drops:
Game 1 - 1st Qtr 6:26 left Game 1 - 3rd Qtr 13:11 left Game 1 - 3rd Qtr 2:11 left Game 3 - 1st Qtr 5:50 left I define a drop as a pass which is catchable by 90% of the receivers in his same spot (ie: #1 receiver) - if it hits the hands or the chest or if I feel they could hold on to it. Someone goes through the game tape to get those same numbers on Stats as well. I don't know if they go frame by frame like I do or if they watch it at game speed - but I would say that every "drop" call is subjective to the viewer. ![]()

RE: PASSER/RECEIVER ANALYSIS
Keep in mind too that Stats Inc - goes through the games and pulls the stats out as well. They do not have all the stats updated at once. You'll get the standard stats, but things like YAC, drops, etc. - those come in sporadically as they do the games and so I wouldn't even look at those stats until Thursday afternoon.
