Our Magic Numbers for Playoffs

Our Magic Numbers for Playoffs
We have 7 games remaining. Our Magic Number for seeding is as follows:

1st - We control our own destiny for each of these wins meaning these are not dependant on any other team winning or losing. We win this number- we clinch that spot.

1st Seed (Wildcard Bye & Homefield all the way through) = 7 games

2nd Seed = 6 games (Wildcard Bye and Homefield Div guar w/Homefield NFCCG if #1 seed loses)

3rd Seed = 6 games

4th Seed = 6 games

Wildcard = 5 games

Those numbers denote that the teams vying for the same spot win every remaining game. Every game the Eagles, Packers, Saints Giants, Bucs and Bears lose may or may not give us additional wiggle room.

It's nice that we control our own destiny - let's hope we hold on to that!

RE: Our Magic Numbers for Playoffs
Has there ever been a year so close like this? Every division leader pretty much has to win out to maintain their positions. There is no room for error in an error riddled NFL.

So we have to win 12 games (right now) just to get a wildcard? Usually 10 wins get that.

No, this is the magic number. If the team we are vying for the spot with loses a game - that adds to our number.

The wins shown here infer that all other teams win out - which is of course not likely.

So the actual wins would likely be less - but we need to just go ahead and win out anyway Smile

It has been my experience that winning has always helped me. That said.... GO FALCONS!!!!

I love the Falcons and to hell with anyone who doesn't!
