On the verge of locking up homefield - please tell me we cannot lose to Seahags
Falcons are on the cusp of achieving everything they could have possibly imagined for the regular season in 2010.

Please tell me there is not a chance in hell that Falcons will lose the the Seahags this weekend. It has been so long since the Falcons team has let us down (week#6-Eagles) that we have almost forgotten the bitterness of losing a game.

While Falcons could still lose this week and get the #1 seed - it would be much, much more difficult.......

We are winning this game......right?!

I'm feeling 90% confident.......wish it was 100%.....

I could tell you no, we won't lose this game, but you've been questioning us week in and week out now. Why should anyone even bother?

no that is not right......i'm just never 100% confident on anything - nothing is a "sure thing" in life.

i think Falcons will win. just anxious about it - that's all.

The politically correct answer, but not the realistic answer.

There's no way you can realistically look at this team and the Seahawks and say we'll lose to them. Worse offenses have put up 40+ points on them at their house, and worse defenses have shut them down on offense. They were BLOWN OUT by the 49ers of all teams.

Our team isn't going to overlook them, and I am confident of that. However, I don't play them, so I can sit here like a smug SOB and say we're going to win on Sunday. It isn't like my attitude about this game is going to impact anything when the Falcons play them.

I understand your anxiety so I will give you a little research project: When was the last time a Mike Smith coached Falcon team lost when they were favored? Who is favored Sunday?

When you finish the research, you should feel better.

It is too late in the season for us to not get the results we expect. If we do our jobs, control the ball and the clock, then we will more than likely be happy with the final score of the game.

how's that for a Mike Smith impression? Big Grin

You also need to include:

"the Seahawks are a well-coached team who are very tough at home."

and

"our team has internal goals that we haven't reached yet."

and

"we are going to have to focus on a strong performance in all three phases."
