The goal line fumble and fubar'd snap by McClure were probably more fluky than Harley missing a chip shot FG.

I wouldn't count on those things happening next time. Holding the Falcons to 14 points in the Dome is an aberration.

they held us to 7 points not 14 radical..........remember the Chauncey Davis TD run on the interception? Saints held Falcons offense to a measly 7 points.

Bottom-line, Saints crushed the Falcons running game and Falcons could not get enough going in the pass game. Falcons offense produced 7 points.

Both defenses played extremely well - give Falcons credit as well - BVG did a damn good job against potent Saints offense.

When the game was on the line, Saints offense executed and Falcons offense did not.

The way the playoff seeding is gonna fall with Falcons being #1 and Saints being #5 - and yes, Falcons will win next week - Falcons will likely see Saints again as I think they will crush the Rams......

....so, this "AINT" over...not by a longshotRolleyes

No, this is not over. And while I am hoping against all hope that the Falcons trip over their feet against the Panthers I am in no way expecting that to happen.

"Being held" to 17 points was simply a by-product of the style of play. The Saints had the ball for 36:35 minutes. They ran 74 plays to Atlanta's 52. The Saints were given the short pass all night long and chose to use a ball possession approach to battle the blitz. Few defenses, if any, can keep up that approach all game long. In the end it turned out that the Falcons couldn't keep it up either, although their effort has to be commended.

We are at least the #5 seed. I was told here there was no hope to win last night, either. It ain't over until Yogi Berra sings.

you weren't told there was no hope from me - nor most of the regs here. I thought the Falcons would win but I knew it was close to a coin-flip - and it played out that way. There was no dominant team last night (sorry Dilfer) but the Saints were slightly better.
you are either the #5 seed or the #1 seed - nothing in between Guido - not sure your point here....

Yup. At least #5, but with a chance at #1. I was saying that being the #5 was not the only possibility.

Oh, and I know that most of the regulars here knew the way it stood.

Huh

Also, if you had watched Saints games this year you would know that they have been blitzed a ton.

Yaa and I watched it and the saints are going to be blitzed more, Tongue Brees ran for his life the whole game, and EVERY team will do that. Enjoy. We're going to see ya'll again. Wink

Also Saints fan since 67 we did beat ya'll earlier this year so were 1-1 and it aint over yet. Even though the saints fans think it is.

Most every team has done that and has had very little success. Although, you did hold Brees to 302 yards passing and over 70% completions.

LOL you got a big "Got Cha" with this one.

Besides, if we gave anyone a blue print, so did yall.

I've been trying to be quiet cause I can't seem to not complain about "stuff" from that game.

I will say this and shut up: Many have been saying we have been winning only by luck. Well, it seems to me that the luck got all equaled out in just this one game.
