On the bright side.....

On the bright side.....
Falcons will win and be razor sharp next week and will have renewed focus for the playoffs. I think when you win as many in a row as the Falcons have won the tendency is to think you might be better than you really are.

With Packers/Saints as likely wildcards we more than likely will face one of those teams again - damn good teams.

Besides, on the superstitious side, I thought the sound of beating Saints three times in one season was unlikely - I would a lot rather lose this game and beat Saints in the playoffs.......we shall see....

RE: On the bright side.....
As much as I wanted this game, I do agree that a loss after 8 straight wins could potentially be a good thing. Though I'd rather just rest our guys next week.

They'll get plenty of rest the week after

Another bright side.....

Despite the loss, that was still a damn good FB game. Helluva lot better than anything else I got to watch this weekend. Smile

This is the right way to look at this. Sure, we all wanted to give the Saints a good beating, but the loss will serve to sharpen the team's resolve. Who knows, maybe this loss will help us win in the play offs. Shake this off and move on. That's what champions do.

The bright side, is as usual, we showed the rest of the NFL how to beat the Saints, BVG called a great game. You can bet every team that plays the saints will follow the Falcons defensive plan and blitz Brees like crazy. He better get used to running for his life.

The last time we lost we won 8 straight, hope we can just do 4. Smile

Sorry, but I had to respond to this one. How did you show the NFL how to beat the Saints when the Saints won?

Huh

Also, if you had watched Saints games this year you would know that they have been blitzed a ton.

congrats asylumguido - your team won and it was not a fluke - the Saints beat the Falcons. Falcons had some tough breaks in this game but so did the Saints. Bottom-line, Saints crushed the Falcons running game and Falcons could not get enough going in the pass game. Falcons offense produced 7 points.

Both defenses played extremely well - give Falcons credit as well - BVG did a damn good job against potent Saints offense.

When the game was on the line, Saints offense executed and Falcons offense did not.

The way the playoff seeding is gonna fall with Falcons being #1 and Saints being #5 - and yes, Falcons will win next week - Falcons will likely see Saints again as I think they will crush the Rams......

....so, this "AINT" over...not by a longshotRolleyes

When you hold the Saints to just 17 points, you've got a blue print for success.

The goal line fumble and fubar'd snap by McClure were probably more fluky than Harley missing a chip shot FG.

I wouldn't count on those things happening next time. Holding the Falcons to 14 points in the Dome is an aberration.
