Agree with you on that point. But not on the fact that it wouldn't be smart to draft Rudolph. I think it would be stupid to draft a TE in the first after complaining about explosiveness, but at the same time, if he is there, and we have no options that we are really fond of, why not take him? And to further that, why couldn't a TE bring explosiveness? With big catches, and receiver-like ability at the TE spot, he could bring us explosiveness like Davis does for the 49ers.

I wouldn't say Rudolph on tape matches the Athleticism of Vernon Davis. He is more like Witten or Heath Miller. A strong throwback style TE with playmaking ability. Davis is a playmaking tight end with a bit of a bruiser thrown in. I am liking Virgil Green and to an extent DJ Williams slightly more at this point than I do Rudolph in terms of what I would like to see for our O. Palmer in my opinion is already a jack of all trades TE, we need a guy who whilst they can block is a dangerous receiver, DJ Williams fits that bill more so than Green (because of his blocking) and in my opinion would be a better choice than Rudolph as I don't think Rudolph has shown enough consistency and production to warrant being our 1st choice. If you are looking for a guy who is more big receiver than TE then I think Virgil Green is the choice out of people Atlanta are looking at.

When considering receiving production from the Tight End spot I'm not sure how Rudolph gets the go ahead as number 1. Again there is always the risk of not taking him and showing out, but I would rather trade back for extra picks if we could or pick someone else at 27 than take Rudolph there.

See, I wouldn't even know. I've never even seen Rudolph in action. Which is why I haven't said anything about him. But if he's the top prospect everyone says he is, why not take him?

Since Ryan can't throw downfield wouldn't it make sense to draft a TE now?

I believe you just trapped Swift. . He will get on here and comeback to your post with "No, it means we need to draft a quarterback!"

the guys saying if TD Doesn't get WR 1st rd all is lost; c'mon calm it down. We have 7 rounds, i'm sure TD and Co. have done research all all the wideouts that have stood out. Plus i'm pretty sure a wr that has great talent will drop. There are players that always drop, also hope we can find a gem. Kind of like the Aints did with Colston. just a thought.
