Live in the South.
Am more conservative than liberal.
Don't listen to gangsta rap.
Always lived in a white majority area with less than 10% black population.
Grew up with a racist uncle and grandpa that used slurs all the time.

Does that make me racist?

Some people are offended, other don't bother with the emotion.

Usually a racist doesn't admit others of the same race are capable of racism...it kills the whole ideology of racism. But people have loss the meaning behind the word lately...

There are more black people offended because the history with that word involved harsh treatment along with it. But I am offended by the notion that it's the same. I don't see how anybody could say that while knowing the context of the word(s)

I'm not offended when a black man says cracker. I am offended when a black person says cracker and it is OK but when a white man says the N word and everybody is all up in arms about it. At the end of the day a word is just that a word. I just cant stand the double standard.

I hate double standards as well. I'm just making sure you dind't think I was saying it's ok. I never even hinted at that.

When I got in the conversation was when Dale stated there WAS NOT a difference between the N word with -a or -er. I was just explaining the difference when it comes to context.

I hate racism altogether. Racism is not just against blacks. We got Hitler, Crow, whomever is in control in arizona...lol

The hardest thing to differentiate these days is whether it's racist or stereotypical.

For example: I don't think Daniel Tosh is racist, but he makes a lot of borderline STEREOTYPICAL jokes. But he makes these jokes for all races, not just one particular one.

I wasn't directing that statement at you (sorry for the confusion) I was just stating my take on the subject of being offended.

One thing I've learned in this topic is that most of the people who call people racists are in fact racists themselves.

A person of one race who clearly shows bias against and obviously dislikes people of another race in general always seem to be the ones blaming the other for something bad thats happening and calling them racists as a result.

"George Bush hates black people", as Kanye said after Katrina. Kanye is the real racist. And this type of belief or mentality is more prevalent today than any other kind of racism, IMO.

Meh thats not true. I would agree that some are but not most. The reason this is believed is because of your example. The example you pull from are the ones in the media, so from that it definitely seems that way.

We all have seen Kanye antics at music awards and things like that. He's one of those sensitive onees that always thinks it involves race.

There are times it does and there times it doesn't. He's certainly not a great one to judge when it is or isn't. haha
