People constantly bitching about how bad the team is etc, they deserve to be called that and far worse. Hell, that's not even as bad as I've seen stuff posted here on the boards with no repercussion to those posters. I appreciate your feed back on the rules. No person is going to be removed for criticizing the team unless their soul intention is to irritate people, which eventually was the case with swift. Removing someone for criticizing the team would be exactly the opposite of what this site is about, which is being able to express an opinion without being abused for it. Phocis and myself, who started the board, are two of the most critical people on the board, so it's never going to be homerliciousville around here unless the team is kicking ass every week. I agree that people melt down in chat when things go poorly. But....ironically, the guy that you called the name wasn't bitching about the team, he was the Saints fan, who was having a little fun at our expense. And honestly, I have no problem with it, because we give that guy the business when the Saints lose, and it's all in fun I'd say. I'm just hoping us Falcons fans start having more fun and he starts having less fun....and soon. |

RE: Why do some of you do this
How can anything said in the heat of the moment be that offensive? I mean you don't have to be the Chat Sgt to enjoy the experience.
My guess is that if you are offended when you here the, "here we go again," or "same old Falcons sentiment" posted in chat, it's because you've had to suppress those emotions at some point in your own mind and expect everyone to be at the same "zen-like" position you've arrived at but in reality you just want to keep the internal conflict from arising again in your own mind. Really talking crap sounds douchy both ways regardless of the merit of your argument. |

The moment our opponent starts coming back or if we have a few bad plays/series, we've lost the game and our team is a fucking joke. It seems like some of you guys actually never say a word until things are looking bad. I think its because some people, lose faith in the team. I don't. I know what you mean, the chicken littles pop out and suddenly the skys falling, ususally in the 3rd qtr and I agree we have always had a problem in the 3rd. Like Keep the pedal down and not pull back, its like we get lackadasical. The whole thing people just need to keep the faith and be a FALCONS FAN.

I mean really, if you're going to just cash in the moment things don't go the way you want them to, what's the point of even being a fan of any football team? |

We're all here for the same thing.
Just some of us go about it differently. |

Some people are exactly what they are, and to call them out shouldn't be offensive. It's like me calling my dog a bitch, she is, by definition a bitch, even on her best most sweetest day doesn't change that. So, calling someone out as what they are shouldn't be something that I'm punished for. This is a Falcons MB, if you want to be constructive fine, but if you're here to be a bitch like that dude, you get what's coming to ya. |

Last I checked, AsylumGuido is a Saints fan, but that doesn't make him a cunt. Really, is it too hard to ask for you to not call names? |

RE: Why do some of you do this
i think it also has a little bit to do with the fact that it seems like this team has to stick to the blueprint (run the ball, go on 3 10 play scoring drives, convert 50% of the 3rd down attempts, win the turnover battle, etc.) 110% every week just to win. it's not like we're a quick strike team like NO or GB, so every mistake the team makes becomes magnified.
i think that's part of the reason the "nervous energy" koenan was talking about exists. we could be up 21-7 with the ball late in the 3rd, but all it's going to take is one turnover, a quick score (secondary has given up plenty of those the last 4 years) and a traditional MM run, run pass 3-and-out for heads to start rolling.

I understand your point, and it is annoying, but it's impossible to say where that line starts with one person and ends with another. "fuck this team," may be a natural outburst of frustration from an otherwise rational person. I know I've said those words, albeit maybe not in chat, but yet I'm still posting on these boards and probably will never stop and love the Falcons. Best to just ignore it methinks, I mean the calling out of it is what really starts the annoying back and forth if you ask me. |
